In 1972 my parents took three of their young children (I was 12 yrs.old) to see a double feature..."Deliverence" and "A Clockwork Orange" I haven't been the same since. :)

I've seen snippets of Deliverance and a good chunk of "Clockwork Orange"...both of them were, well, to say they are disturbing is putting it mildly.
My mom wouldn't let me go to an Osmond concert because she was concerned about drugs... I'm serious
10 years later she let my baby brother (16) and his two buddies take a bus from our farm town to see visit her in Buffalo and then go--unchaperoned--to go to a double-header concert: Blue Oyster Cult and Black Sabbath...
