I figure any kind of smoke isn't good for your voice. I used to smoke and drink and when i stopped I felt a difference in my voice. Might have all been in my head, but it has improved.
it's better than cigarette smoking. I know people who have done it for years with no vocal problems at all.
remember- it's not what you do. it's what you DON'T do.
BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD.
Cigarette smoking is harmful enough, but pot will KILL your voice. I personally cannot sing properly for like, two days after smoking pot, and the long-term effects are also pretty bad. I was doing a production of "The Full Monty" and the guy who was playing Jerry barely got through the role (even after his songs were lowered a full step) because he was smoking so much pot.
I know people who lose their voice entirely once they smoke one joint, and others who have smoked for years and not been affected at all.
That said, I don't feel like risking it.

You really can't kill your voice from a few hits. I mean, smoking daily will damage your lungs which damages the way you breath which of course is going to change your voice.
Straight actors have to think about that too - not just singers.
However, that being said, some people never see a difference and have beautiful voices their entire life.
Just don't be stupid - don't smoke if you notice a change in your voice. If you've never tried it, don't make your first time the day of a performance.
how about no one, at all, singer or not, chooses to smokes anything at all....
thats always a thought.
If you truly love singing, it should give you a better natural high than any cannabis product ever could!
Except maybe some AK47. Ahem.
