I think this ep is better than the last couple of ones (so far), but still not great.

Thus far, I have only found the CNN skit funny.... but at least this time we have CZJ to enjoy. It's best if you block out the skit and just focus on her trying to make it not as painful.

She is the reason I am not asleep at this very moment.

This show is horrible. Oh, how I wish I could enjoy it like so many of you. I just think it's awful. I'm hanging in there to see Catherine, who is just swell. It just isn't funny.
And enjoy the beauty - all the joy and beauty - that a Merry Christmas can bring to you!

She was really good in the Italian sketch, but the sketch wasn't all that good. I don't suppose they'd bring back Nine again with her?

Catherine is breathtakingly beautiful and talented but SNL is awful. The writing is awful and it's not funny.

I never watch SNL for its musical guests or sketches.

I only tune in if I like the host, and I always watch up until Weekend Update. It's the best part of the show. Then I change the channel.

Just when SNL had something going for it - prime people left the show. What the hell did they hire Keenan Thompson for? He can only do one style of humor and they put him in sterotypical roles. It's just not funny. He doesn't do a good Bill Cosby. STOP MAKING HIM DO BILL COSBY AND STAR JONES!!!!!

She is singing a lot on this ep.

She should make a CD of Broadway covers or something. She is truely a triple threat hollywood star - dosen't happen alot.

What's sad is that it has gone unnoticed until CHICAGO. And then it hasn't been used again until this SNL episode.

OK - she has had three spots so far tonight where it seemed like she was going to kiss another cast member in the sketch - but it didn't happen. The first time she just hugged. The second time she gave an akward peck that happened after the impulse. The third time the other guy put his hand in front of his lips and spanked her.

She have an issue? SNL peeps intimidated? Michael Douglas give death threats?

It didn't have CZJ, but I thought the Morgan Stanley fake commercial was funny. I'd think that would be ealier in the episode. And the spanking wedding was ALMOST funny. Not quite, but it had potential.

capnhook, I was thinking the same thing. I have no idea what the reasons were behind the almost-kisses. Even if they weren't supposed to be kisses, they were poorly excecuted because it just looked awkward and the actors seemed uncomfortable.

Aigoo, why don't you change your avatar back to CZJ?

I think Catherine would be awesome in Kiss of the Spider Woman, like I can so see her doing it and nailing it. Maybe I just say that because it's another Chita role and also a Bebe Neuwirth role, but still, she'd be seamless. I'd like to see what she does with the Gypsy score, she'd be a total bitch as Mamma Rose. Another role that would fit her is Sally Bowles. She just does Kander & Ebb so good.

Was I the only person who noticed that CZJ wasn't keeping up with the music in the opening tap number?

I turned it off after Weekend Update.

I liked Keenan Thompson waaay back in the early days of All That. Anyway, I get the feeling a lot of these cast members are talented folk being misserved by the writing. (Which, admittedly, is largely theirs.)

Has Chris Parnell been fired? He was on very briefly last week, and wasn't on at all this week. Not to mention that his name/picture has been removed from the opening credits.

It's certainly not a loss though...
