Oh, I'm not even sure which one to choose. I've listened to selections of the Nutcracker every Christmas. And have seen only three "productions." The Baryshnikov version on PBS, The Royal Ballet at Covent Gardens' production (narrated at the beginning by Julie Andrews), and of course, NYCB's version, live... Someday, I'll add a certain Chicago ballet company's version to my list... :)

I hope that happens soon Cookie.
It's all extraordinary but the Snow Scene is always a favorite of mine.

I started only because I got my "White Christmas" cast recording last week and have been loving it ever since.

I'm listening to "Singers Unlimited" from iTunes.
It's listed under Jazz. Gorgeous harmonies.

Well, I'm in A Christmas Carol this fall, and I'm singing most of the time. So yes, the carols are there, but not necessarily by choice.

Cool website. I have a friend who does "Dickens Fairs" out here in SF every winter with her troupe. Looks like a lot of fun!

I think when you're a singer or a music teacher, you think about Christmas music all year long.

The choir I sing with recorded another Christmas album in June, and we're having a release party for it on November 11th. It's "Christmas in Bethlehem Vol. 4", by the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. There are some pretty, not so popular pieces on it...although my favorites are still all on Volumes 1 and 2. Here's a link if you're really interested. http://www.bach.org/recording.html

At school, my chorus is already into Holiday mode. We're working on "Candy Cane Calypso", "Noel Cha Cha" and "Tap Your Christmas Blues Away" (Sense my dance theme this year??) Plus a "secular" version of "Still, Still, Still". And "Shalom Aleichem"

Now I just have to pick music for the Kindergartens, First and Second grades. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend???/

I recently bought Susan Egan's "Winter Tracks", but I probably won't start listening to it until closer to Christmastime.

I admit, I whipped out *NSYNC's "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" today, and the Nutcracker after that.

My taste tends to get significantly better as the season nears, though.

I miss not singing in the church choir. Our choir director left and was replaced by a woman who really prefers to be a soloist and isn't actively recuiting a choir.

Sad. Terribly sad.

I like the older stuff. This new stuff about "Mama's dying and she needs a new pair of shoes and it's Christmas" is garbage.

I wish that someone would release the King Family Christmas Specials on DVD. They are the epitome of Christmas in the late 1960s. You haven't had Christmas until you've experienced one of the King Family Christmas Specials.

nope, not yet Glebb....well, unless I am in the Macy's Xmas store. I probably will start early this year....like late next week.
I think the Christmas Spirit actually smacked me in the face on October 14th this year, but I've decided to ignore it until the first weekend of November at the earliest.......
