Well, Frances will be 18 next year, so she'll be a legal adult. And as Michael at Dlisted.com says, maybe then she'll get legal custody of Courtney.

I can't believe it took them 17 years to realize she was an unfit mother.

Shame. You know, I've been waiting for a long time for Courtney to do another movie. She's crazy enough that's it's transformed her into a phenomenal actress and I've been missing seeing her on screen. I guess she's just been too busy being a bad mom.

This is the third time she's been taken away, right? I'm going to guess this has a lot to do with money management and Frances being a year away from coming into her inheritance.

Jordan, I agree and still maintain she should have played Nancy in Sid & Nancy. Then again, I find Courtney inexplicably endearing and probably would always root for her unless she skinned a puppy on stage or something.

She would have been good as Nancy, but I think the girl that played her (Chloe something?) was excellent too.

I love the movie Sid & Nancy (along with its soundtrack) but especially the two leads of Gary Oldman and Chloe Webb (what ever happened to her).

I do think Courtney is a good actress and I wish she would just get back on the wagon.

Personally I always thought Courtney was more of the Sid in the relationship, if you know what I mean.

"Personally I always thought Courtney was more of the Sid in the relationship, if you know what I mean."

Oh, absolutely. By all accounts, Kurt was kind of a whiny, depressive little wimp.

ETA: Chloe Webb was really great, I agree! Looks like she's just been doing CSI and House and things like that since. Updated On: 12/14/09 at 08:24 PM

Well except Kurt of course did have discernible talent and was not a prostitution whore.

To be honest both Courtney and Kurt had more talent in their pinkie fingers than Sid and Nancy together.

lol so Courtney is finally deemed not fit to be a parent, how funny that Frances is 17....

And on a semi-related note, Billy Corgan is now dating Jessica Simpson (WTF WTF WTF)

It's been a bad bad week for washed up 90's alt rock icons.

Going strictly by the news report cited, Ms. Love is not mentioned in the paperwork.

If you or others are deeming her an unfit mother, that is your perogative (although, potentially based on nothing but public knowledge, which may or may not relate in any way to reality.)

It is somewhat misleading to claim that the situation itself lables her unfit, since in the official public paperwork she's not even mentioned.

She's lost custody of Frances Bean before, she later won her back in an ugly trial a few years back vowing to clean up.

According to TMZ, temporary guardianships are established by the court "when the parent is not capable of taking care of their children." Love was reportedly not in court when the filing occurred.

"According to TMZ" and what is mentioned specifically in the released public documents are not the same thing.

Consider this is not the first time and that was based on whether she was a fit mother, which she then went on many media outlets trying to give her side of the story, and she was previously embroiled in a nasty case with Frances Bean's yet again co-guardians, Courtney's in-laws.

This is the PDF of officially making the grandmother and aunt co-guardians:
http://tmz.vo.llnwd.net/o28/newsdesk/1214_love.PDF

Being an unfit parent can mean a series of things, especially in different states and localities.

Supposedly she tried to tap into her daughter's trust fund (which explicitly in the paperwork is a major no-no to her co-guardians) and was denied. She has stated she is broke, can barely feed her child, and could be facing eviction.

Then there's the drug use and erratic behavior on Facebook.

I have a soft spot for Courtney surrounded by thorns, but I cannot think there was not a reason why this happened without it involving her situation. Surprisingly, through her lawyer, she was incredibly subdued by this which is amazing since she was at her mother-in-law's throat a few years back.

"Wasn't Chloe Webb in China Beach?"

Yes, she was. And also in the DeVito, Schwarzenegger film TWINS.

She was also Mona Ramsey in the first Tales of the City movie.

"She was also Mona Ramsey in the first Tales of the City movie."

And the reason that I couldn't accept Nina Siemaszko in the role later on.

Chloe was also part of the ensemble in one of my favorite 'unheard of' movies, QUEEN'S LOGIC.

Yeah, I never warmed up to Nina Siemaszko either. I lamented losing Paul Gross as Brian, too, but I liked the second Mouse better than the first.

I loved Chloe in Tales of the City! She WAS Mona. Sid and Nancy was one of those movies I thought was excellent, but will probably never watch again.

" Sid and Nancy was one of those movies I thought was excellent, but will probably never watch again."

Same with me. Every time I see it's on tv, I'm tempted to watch it again, and after a minute, I realize I don't want that feeling.
