I'm assuming Brooke and Lance are a lock so between Cody and Warren I'd rather see Cody go to the finals though I don't believe he'd win. I know everyone just adores Warren, but I don't get it. I don't think he's a very good dancer, and I agree with Bruno that he somehow manages to blind everyone with his showmanship. He's a joy to watch, but that doesn't make up for his footwork.

It was extremely weak for a semi-final. But then, the entire season has been weak. Lance and Lacey were the best, followed by Brooke and Derrek, who only had one good number out of two. I've wanted Cody off the show since the very first one, so I cannot be objective about him. To me he is a spastic annoyance. Warren is fun, but not in the same league as Lance or Brooke. But I hope he's in the finals, instead of Cody!

Oh, and Mitzi Gaynor was in the audience. The show drives me crazy. They are always showing someone who I recognize, and nine times out of ten, I get who it is; but, last night, they showed a couple of guys who were driving my wife and I crazy! If anyone has the show, who is the guy with the dark hair, sitting behing Lance's father? Also, the guy to his left? And, who is the guy sitting with Stacy Keibler?

I didn't see it, like I said, but one of them might have been Brooke's husband. I can't think of his name, but he used to be on Baywatch. David something?

No. I know him when I see him. Anyway, it just dawned on me who the two guys sitting behing Lance's father and grandfather were. I don't know their names, but they are both on Days of Our Lives. One of them is Bo and Hope's son, and the other is that Brit-guy that likes Sammy. At least he used to. That just leaves whoever was sitting next to Stacy.

Was it a former contestant, maybe?

No, not a former contestant. Some Z-List celeb who's not famous enough to be on DWTS.

Who went home? I may just tune in for the last five minutes tonight. Two hours is too long for a results show.

Although this makes me happy, I don't even care right now.

The results show was only an hour. The first hour was a recap of last night's dances.

It's unfortunate, but not unexpected. Cody needed to deliver last night and he just didn't. Though, I still think Warren is a joke.

I didn't get to see the show last night, so I appreciated the recap tonight. What on earth were Cody and Julianne doing in those military costumes? That was horrendous! I wasn't surprised in the least that they were axed.
Warren is not a great "dancer," but as the judges all agree, he is a true "entertainer." If I wanted to see top-notch ballroom dancers, I'd watch those ballroom dancing competitions, but know what? I hate that crap! I watch DWTS because it's amusing or even, as in last season with Marlee Matlin, occasionally touching. But that's because the non-dancers ARE non-dancers.
Ballroom dancing is SO completely artificial to me that having these non-professionals compete makes it more accessible and fun. I suppose that's why I liked Strictly Ballroom. It made fun of the genre while still respecting it.
I mean, come on, this show is about as cheesy as you can get! But then again, so is ballroom dancing!

My aunt and uncle, who were international champions, would disagree.

I find it an extremely challenging and difficult sport. I thought Sunset Blvd> was "cheesy", but that, of course, is a matter of opinion.

I agree. I love ballroom dancing, and actually did take a short class for one of my college gym classes. Some of the dances are really difficult. But, they were fun.

I was disappointed last night. I don't find Warren entertaining at all. I just find him horrible and think he should have been gone WEEKS ago. I haven't liked any of his dances and noticed that the judges wouldn't criticize things about him that they criticized about others.
I am hoping Lance will win now. I love Lacey's choreography and think he has really improved throughout the season

I really liked Lacey's choreography this past week, but overall, I think Derek is the best choreographer on the show.

Everybody, calm down! Maybe "cheesy" doesn't mean the same thing to you as it does to me. I don't think something is "bad" when I call it "cheesy." But maybe "corny" is a better word...although I don't think that is quite the appropriate word either. Nevertheless, I didn't mean it in an insulting way.
Ballroom Dancing certainly requires skill and talent. I just think that as a "sport" (as JohnBoy called it) or an "art form" (as someone else might call it), it's gawdy and over-the-top. I happen to love "gawdy and over-the-top," which is why I love ice skating and ice dancing too.
I have also been won over by Lance and Lacey, and I was firmly in the other corner--any other corner-- which proves how far they have come

Don't back down, miss p! I think you're right--it IS cheesy.
Doesn't mean the people involved aren't talented and hard-working...just means it has a certain quality that removes it from reality for sometimes humorous effects.
And could Lance's teeth be any whiter? He's like the Pepsodent Girl!

Thank you, liljay. I guess some people think "cheesy" is a bad thing. There's room in this world for everything. My tastes run the gamut. It makes life less boring, that's for sure!
