Disney deserves a few brownie points for improvement, but fundamentally they are still G rated when it comes to entertainment and values. What other purpose would there be to re-introduce the single most controversial persona to grace the dance floor? Certainly ratings but they have got to know how politically volatile the election circus is this year. There are plenty of other past contestants that could have been chosen that would have made the show's viewing just as enjoyable.

I think it's more simplistic than that. She'll get viewers (sadly) and be a controversial figure--as it's proven. To suggest that Disney is some conservative company trying to force their beliefs down viewers throats in sneaky ways strikes me as a bit paranoid. It's all down to viewer numbers.

I think it's an interesting idea to consider, but IMHO I think, as I said, it simply comes down to name and viewer numbers.

No apologies needed, no offense taken Eric. I know you guys are right and I am sorry if I sounded paranoid. My feelings on this stem from having at least two dozen friends having worked in television for Disney over the past 30 years. I saw how Disney operated and treated them and felt this was just more manipulation on their part. Not looking to open up a can of worms here.

Well I appreciate you giving my post the benefit of the doubt about how it was intended--that can be rare on forums sometimes.
Now I'm kinda curious to hear about your friends, actually, LOL. I do agree that, whatever the intentions, it is beyond annoying that she is back, and particularly during an election year. (The whole setup is kinda weird actually--I saw some clip on TV of Joey Lawrence where he claimed he turned them down, and he pointed out that it seemed odd to mix winners and non winners up together, and I thought he had a point).

There are plenty of other past contestants that could have been chosen that would have made the show's viewing just as enjoyable.
While that may be true, I think this list more accurately represents the people who were actually willing to participate in the show again.

If Sabrina Bryan gets voted on to the show, I'll watch. I love Shawn Johnson, but I don't think I could stick it out having to watch Bristol flop around like a fish even if Mark is gorgeous and supporting her flopping fish sh*t.

I am very happy that Sabrina got voted in. She should have been an automatic pick. She was by far a better dancer than Pam Anderson and Bristol Palin!!
They should have mixed up all the pairs to make it fair. The couples that have worked together on previous seasons have an unfair advantage because they already have a chemistry together and know how each other works.
I agree with Joey Lawrence in the article beautywickedlover posted. They should have stuck with runner-ups vs champions or a season with champions only. I would prefer not to have any of the previous champions, Pam, or Bristol in the mix.

Mark Ballas has been getting on my nerves since late 2010 and now after reading this I am annoyed with him even more.

Pam seemed like she was on something which was such a shame. Perhaps she was just really nervous because she really didn't belong there. Although physically Bristol looked better- I still cannot stand her. All she was doing was a lot of cheerleader like shaking but no dancing. Plus she is vacant. I was so afraid the judges would mark her up after their comments but thankfully they did not. It's funny that Kirstie is what- about 61- about 40 years older than Bristol- but she moves better. I love how Pam called out the Tea Party for helping out Bristol. Gilles was gorgeous to watch and I hope he goes far!

Yeah, Pamela Anderson definitely seemed like she was drunk or on something. I remember her being that way during her regular season though.
I definitely hope that Pamela Anderson and Bristol Palin go home early. After last night and remembering her season, I'm not 100% sure Kirstie Alley will be going as far either. I think keeping up with the rest might be a little difficult. But, I could wrong.
I sort of don't care who wins this season. Most of who I had wanted to win or be in the finals are here. So, it will be difficult to choose who.

It struck me as odd that they didn't mix up all the pais as well--did they only do it if a contestant asked?
I was only half watching last night, due to finishing some work, but I admit I was a bit disappointed. I found it a little disappointing to see all these people I had already seen on the show before--more disappointing than I expected actually. That may change as I get more into the show, and it was nice to see scertain people back. Plus interesting to see who seemed to still pretty much have all their abilities,and those who seemed stiff (like Drew, who was good otherwise).
For the record I woulda scored Kirstie slightly better. I can't really blame Mark Ballas for his dialogue about Palin--that's the role he has to play (I wouldn't mind ifhe toned down his facial expressions though...).
I have a feeling Bruno is going to be using the .5 paddles a lot...

Pamela definitely deserved to go, but Drew did not deserve to be in the bottom two. He was the not one of the celebrities who gave a weak performance.

I thought his arms were awful, and those weird jumps he did embarassing (his partner should have told him to cut them in week one), but I do agree.
