This news makes me sad. It's awful when anybody has to file, especially any 72-year-old. She made some really unwise decisions for someone with so much success, talent, and opportunity.
Hearing how she lives now also makes me sad.
Her voice on the radio and on the turntable was such a huge part of my childhood. I still love her music.
Dionne Warwick files for bankruptcy
AGAIN?
She also got in trouble during the 90's for scamming various charities .
Déjà vu.
Karma is a bitch. Who knows what she will do. She can't sing anymore. We saw her about a year ago and she sounded like Elaine Strich.
Please don't make any jokes about how one of her psychic friends should have seen this coming.

So, I guess her settlement from suing BABY IT'S YOU wasn't enough?
How much did she get from that?
Another one whose true colors came out on Celebrity Apprentice. I used to be a big fan but she turned out to be nasty and mean with a superiority complex.
I don't know. The information was never released.

I don't feel bad at all. Maybe if a single penny raised by her AIDS foundation went to anybody but herself.
(I've decided if I can't say something nice about someone I'd say nothing.)

It musta broke her spirit when she didn't get any Nippy money.
I just think of all the people she conned with her Physic Friends Network and I say, "good!". Too bad, but no sympathy here.

I worked at an outdoor amphitheater some years ago that had her booked as one of the concert acts for the summer. Her rider seemed to be fairly straight forward until we got to an entire section concerning the Psychic Friends Networks. What it all boiled down to was if she heard any mention of it, either herself or if one of her staff heard about it and told her, she would cancel the show and leave. We were all on our best behavior, but needless to say it wasn't easy. In all honesty I think seeing it spelled out so explicitly in her rider only served as a reminder and temptation. Otherwise I really doubt any of our staff would have even thought about it.
I can't say whether or not she was unpleasant as her interaction with our house staff was severely limited. Basically she only interacted with her own touring staff and spent every second of her downtime in her dressing room and left the venue as quickly as she could, which usually means it was a good thing we didn't have to deal with her. This is in comparison to other artists, such as Jewel and Sara McLachlan, who were extremely pleasant (we even took Sarah on a golf cart tour of the park that the amphitheater was a part of).

Warwick has spent many years of her career raising funds for several humanitarian and philanthropic causes without compensation.
Ah-hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHAAAAA! That is RICH. Her expense account spent out more money than the foundation took in.
I'm not certain, but I don't believe Chapter Seven will relieve you from tax debt. But, some changes are for good.
I think BettyBoy may have won the tread.
Always.

I worked with her in the 70s and she was not a nice person. Sorry about her financial troubles but what goes around... Karma, indeed.
