my voice is a boring alto.

I wish i had a smooth sounding natural voice but alas, i am stuck with this classic bouncy character voice.

It fits me though.

But it's okay bwaysinger... I don't know about you, but I like singing like a girl sometimes :) Well, often...

And I just sang a little bit and spoke and they sound similiar, so I guess I'm doing something right!

I'm baritone and my voice is really deep.
I like it but sometimes I wish I could sing like my idol Marvin Gaye.

I love my voice... And I go to school for vocal performance, so I kind of have to.... gah, that sounds arrogant... sorry ya'll.

Not really. I think it's accceptable, but I'm only happy when I'm singing in a choir or with a recording, and sometimes not even then. I have no technique so my voice wears out easily, and my upper range is the first thing to go. Not good when you're a mezzo-soprano who keeps reaching for soprano status.

I generally am quite fond of my classical singing voice. There are times when it does not do what I wish it to do, but on the whole, I can usually count on it. My belting/mix type voice needs work.

I've learned to love my voice, surprisingly. I used to hate it.

I'm certainly not one of those legit sounding lyric baritones that are so beautiful and have people begging me to sing for them. Never been into singing classical music because I can't express myself through that kind of music. Look to high baritones and tenors for that. Never been a fan of tenors. They have too much pride. I'm a straightforward rock/blues/jazz/broadway singer. I have the underdog type of voice. I'm not legit and I don't care to be. I can still belt the **** out of stuff so there. Of course I've had only a little bit of training, but I know how to keep my voice healthy. Non-smoker, non-drinker, etc. I'm stalling , procrastinating.

I have a baritone/bass voice, similar to my speaking voice. It's kind of smoky, resonant and really warm and soothing at times, then growly and rock-sounding at other times. I sound like a mix of Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal when I sing. And at times like Elton John meets Anthony Kiedis meets Frank Sinatra/Michael Buble.
So yes, I love my singing voice, no one else does. Haha, oh well.

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)
