And the nominees are...
If I were a voter, I'd find it very hard to decide between Farmiga and Wright, both of whom gave exquisite performances.

What does VIncent Kartheiser have to do to get recognized--especially after his work THIS past season? It's pretty disheartening.
What's up with SEVEN actresses for Best Dramatic Actress?
SEVEN?
Why not just make it 30.
I'm with you, blueroses, quite suprised to see that Vincent Kartheiser wasn't nominated.
Also, no nomination for Monica Potter on Parenthood?
VK not getting nominated was expected but really disappointing. I thought Kevin Rahm had an outside shot to as Ted but even though I thought Aaron Paul had really nothing to do last season and Dinklage probably should not be the male acting rep for Game of Thrones for this past season, they're previous winners so I could understand why they stayed on. Very happy for Mandy Patankin (the only person who came off sniffing like roses for Season 2 of Homeland) and Jonathan Banks got nominated.
Very happy for Adam Driver, Tony Hale, and Anna Chlumsky getting in the acting comedy categories. I love Bill Hader but I still do not get the recent groundswell to put SNL performers in the Comedy Acting category. Also, W00T Enlightened got love. But oh wow, New Girl got no love and I was pretty confident that Jake Johnson would get a nod because of just how weak the lead actor in a comedy category was.
I think Netflix Emmy cred was overstated a little bit. The performers (the HOC nominees) that were nominated for the show are well-known actors while Arrested Development really, for all of the criticism the season received, got a shocking small amount of nominations.
I love Jane Lynch to death but give that nod to Zosia Mamet or even the more conventional choice of Sofia Vergara.
Also only Margo Martindale's guest-spot nod was the only major nomination for The Americans. I shouldn't be surprised by I was really hoping Kerri Russell and Matthew Rhys got nominated.
The Office finale got a writing nomination. Only multiple nominee in the category is 30 Rock, deserving, but boy does the Emmy Awards really like the show Episodes. Very happy though that the Girls episode that really got to me was the "On All Fours" episode getting a directing nod. Nice work, Lena.
No writing or directing nominations for Mad Men. A year after they had 3 writing submissions nomination for a single category. I would've nominated "In Care Of" or "The Crash". But at least Harry Hamlin and Linda Cardellini got nominations for their guest spots. On the other side of that, great for Breaking Bad's writing finally getting some love for their writing, that they were not really getting nominations for previously.
So happy for the American Horror Story nominations, particularly Lange, Paulson, Quinto, and Cromwell. The acting this season from them helped make the season as good as it was, especially Sarah Paulson as Lana.
I agree about American Horror Story, particularly Jessica Lange. She was absolutely incredible. I also liked seeing Kerry Washington get a nomination, even though she has no chance of winning.
I'm okay with it, mostly. Just some things bother me:
No Mads Mikkelsen for Hannibal, or anything from that show in general.
Emilia Clarke over Michelle Fairley? Seriously?
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau had a more impressive season than Peter Dinklage.
No Jennifer Carpenter for Dexter.
No Monica Potter for Parenthood.
No Andrew Lincoln for The Walking Dead.
Ok I'm done complaining.
Hannibal had no shot at the major nominations but dear lord, it's such a beautiful looking, well-crafted show. I thought it could at least get some cinematography, music, and design nods.
"No Jennifer Carpenter for Dexter."
I know, right. Happy to see Team House of Cards gettin' a lil' love.

I love Hamlin and Morse on Mad Men, but as series regulars, wouldn't they be supporting roles rather than guest?
broadway86--you're right about Jennifer Carpenter's work last season, although I am so done with Dexter. I'm watching the show out of obligation at of this point. I feel like I have to see it through.
Emilia Clarke is brilliant as is Michelle Fairley; but it's easy to see that Clarke's role perhaps gave her greater admiration this season.
Frankly, there is such an abundance of great actors scoring in great roles on tv now that the Emmy's are a crap shoot.
Harry Hamlin was definitely a guest. Kevin Rahm was the only official cast-member moved to regular in-season, IIRC. Morse has gotten guest-spots before. I remember the first season credits that he and John Slattery have been credited as 'special appearance'.
I feel like "They Just Keep Moving the Line" should have gotten an Original Music nod over the other Smash songs.
"...although I am so done with Dexter. I'm watching the show out of obligation at of this point. I feel like I have to see it through."
I can totally relate.
JFC, Janie Bryant's costuming on Mad Men is NOT nominated.
Very happy Merritt Weaver got a nom, also Cat Deeley who was overlooked for so long.
While I LOVE American Horror Story, I still think its Mini-Series categorization is stupid.
And I forgot to mention the omission of Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black. Honestly, the definition of an Emmy-worthy performance.
Thrilled for American Horror Story and Breaking Bad.
Hannibal had no shot at the major nominations
I expected at least a nod for Mikkelsen. It seemed that everyone pretty much agreed he was excellent.
strummergirl that is crazy! Her costuming is impeccable!
While I'm very happy for Kerry Washington, her show deserved a nomination for best drama series. And Jeff Perry (who plays Cyrus Beane) was robbed of a nomination. I figured he'd be a front-runner to win the award.
Any love for Scandal is a win in my book although it definitely deserves a Best Drama nod since it's THE BEST. Dan Bucatinsky kinda shocked me. Been a fan of his for years and glad he's getting recognition.
Jane Lynch and Dot-Marie Jones for Glee? Were they even on the show last season?
Anthony Bourdain for best host? C'mon. When will Drag Race and Ru herself finally get some recognition?
Three words: DIANA F*CKING RIGG.
"I expected at least a nod for Mikkelsen. It seemed that everyone pretty much agreed he was excellent."
Me too. Arguably the series has its flaws but his performance has been A+.
"Jane Lynch and Dot-Marie Jones for Glee? Were they even on the show last season?"
They were. I think Lynch had better material than in past seasons but that category is ridiculously strong. Dot-Marie Jones gets no complaints from me. She's usually the best thing of the episodes she is in.
Usually GoldDerby is good at showing the odds so I am prepped for disappointment. That said, really shocked at how accurate it was about New Girl.
