Posted: 9/23/11 at 5:59pmI was all set to be bored by Two Broke Girls and I actually sort of liked it. "Well, I can cross that of my bucket list" made me LOL. The moment, not so much the line itself. For the most part, the cast is better than the writing, which helps tremendously. The old black man character really needs to be cut. He serves no purpose whatsoever.

I am surprised nobody mentioned Parks & Rec. Patricia Clarkson as Tammy 1, an IRS agent warning Ron of him getting audited was amazing. I also love the B-story of the junk photos and who they belonged to. Never has '...@sarahlawrence.edu' been so used so well.
Community was so good even in the re-watches. So much can be read from that episode.
I watched The Big Bang Theory two-parter premiere. I really liked the episode heavily featuring Amy otherwise the other episode was pretty weak with no real good b-stories to support a really boring Penny-Raj issue.
I did watch half of The Office episode. The planking gag was cute but I was pretty bored even with James Spader on. Never have been an Andy fan.
Fringe's premiere was solid and the previews what is up next season looks great.
It's Always Sunny at 'the shore' was the total gross, crass insanity you would expect. Archer was great yet again too.

This week's lineup -
Monday -
Mike & Molly, Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie, Terra Nova
Tuesday - no new shows
Wednesday - Suburgatory, Happy Endings
Thursday - Private Practice, How to be a Genlteman.
Only one show got officially deleted off my list so far (Free Agents), so its going to busier than I thought. I liked 2 Broke Girls, but with Terra Nova being 2 hours tonight, I can't tivo it this week. oh well.
Secret Circle had a decent 2nd week showing. Supernatural premier was so so. I'll love those boys doing anything but we need to get back to monster of the week format. I still have to watch A Gifted Man.

Caught up on some more
Charlies Angel's was not the car crash everyone said but was not good, i wish the playful and silly energy of the movies had been left it.
Pan Am - Brilliant, great cast, great writing and looks wonderful, one of my faves.
Prime Suspect was good (not as good as the UK one) but with terrible ratings i imagine it will be gone soon.
A Gifted Man i found dull
Whitney is one of the worst things ive ever seen
Was happy to have Housewives, The Good Wife and Fringe back as well.

for some reason Pan Am didn't record for me. I was excited about checking it out. Guess I'll have to try and find it online.
I did watch Person of Interest last night. Not bad. Some of the plot made me roll my eyes, but it was an intriguing enough procedural for me to keep checking out.
Gossip Girl - ehhhh, it's guilty pleasure TV and Chace Crawford is pretty to look at.

Posted: 9/27/11 at 11:56amDid anyone else see the 2nd episode of 2 Broke Girls? It's strange, I like it, and it does make me laugh, but I worry about my taste now. I agree, the guy in the diner at that counter is totally pointless. And, Caroline is funny sometimes, but she also has this dullness to her personality. Or is that supposed to be part of it? She was rich, so she has no personality?

Go Smile - thanks. I noticed that when I went to check why it didn't record in the first place. Tivo now also lets you set up the season pass for "American Horror Story" so I took care of that too.
Marianne - I did not see it since I had other things recording, but I am seeing different reviews/views. People aren't liking it as much as they did the pilot.

I definitely felt guiltier laughing at the second episode of 2 Broke Girls than the pilot. I like the two leads but there really needs to be one or two more fleshed out supporting players so there are actual b-stories to support their central story. I would venture to guess maybe an additional cast members are added to the diner or there will be an actual attempt to make the current employees at the diner not just stereotypes (I really want Han/Bryce Lee to not just be an Asian stereotype). Garret Morris as the guy behind the counter was actually pretty dialed down from the pilot, definitely for the better.
As for Caroline, I think the writers are trying to figure out how to give her more substance but in the second episode I thought they betrayed her characterization in the pilot where she was clearly not an all out bonehead. In the second episode she was too territorial and micro-managing which seemed too much of a jump in one episode. She sort of reminds me of Quinn from Daria but an animated character is more tolerable than an actual in the flesh character.

Posted: 9/27/11 at 1:00pmI wanted Hart of Dixie on a whim last night. It was cute and will probably do well in the CW's typical demographic

Posted: 9/27/11 at 3:57pmI liked Hart of Dixie. I thought it was cute and harmless. Being from Alabama, I liked that it references things that are familiar to me. I have nothing else that I am interested in watching in that time slot so...why not?

Didnt enjoy Hart of Dixie and with its first episode getting a 0.8 in the demo it makes it the lowest of the new shows to debut on the CW so does not look good for it.
Terra Nova was OK but needs to pick up the pace. With a 3.0 Demo and under 10 million Fox must be worried, especially after all the money and promo they gave the show.
Loved Mike and Molly and Boardwalk Empire's season 2 starts

I thought Hart of Dixie was silly and casued a lot of eye rolling, but it is cheesey and of course I will keep watching it! It's got Jason Street & Deshawn Hardell in it!
Second episodes of Glee & New Girl - ehhhhhh. Glee didn't annoy me so much as last week but still enough. I did like Criss's "something's Coming" and Puck's scenes with the baby.
The New Girl - I like it but Zooey is getting on my nerves. I'm just the anti girly girl so that could be why, but I am kinda liking the dynamic and where it can go.

Enjoyed 'Unforgettable' last night.
It fits perfectly with all the other CBS crime dramas, and I like the lead character.
It won't be 'appointment viewing', but if I'm home on a Tuesday night, I'll watch.
I'm fascinated by the phenomenon of 'superior autobiographical memory'...

I hated it too. She's nowhere near as adorable as she thinks she is...and I also promised if she sang, I was out...and she sang the opening.
It made me think of that awful "Cotton" commercial...ACK!

Totally hooked into 'Revenge'.
Still waiting to see what the first new show cancellation will be. We all have our bets in the pool in the office...

Love the character development and story arcs in Revenge. And the scenery is divine.

Posted: 9/29/11 at 9:50amI found it Addy. The show is Once Upon A Time and it's taking Extreme Home Makeover's 8:00 slot. I don't know where EHM is being moved to. I thought it was ratings gravy for ABC.
