I'm helping some friends find colleges and fill out applications and I'm worried that that's going to somehow come back to bite me in the @ss.

The only reason it's not opening is because the fire inspector decides to fail the inspections.
They probably "decided" to fail the inspections because it wasn't up to code and therefore, not safe. Which is a law. You'd probably still be whining if they made you go to school in an unsafe building instead, so just suck it up.

You know when you have a weird dream, and you don't remember it right away, but when you do you have to try to figure out what it was even about? I'm just starting to remember really vague bits about this awfully bizarre dream I had last night, and I'm trying to fill in the blanks and figure out what on Earth was going on with me while I was asleep. Hmmm. I know it'll come to me sometime in the middle of the day, but this is frustrating!
A friend totally misinterpreted something I said last night, and I feel really bad.

I've definitely have had that happen before.
Or, (I get fustrated with this more) when you remember a dream after you wake up, and then later when you're trying to tell someone about it, you forget most of it.
So, today in Civics we had to bring in a CD (any CD), and of course I forget until this morning while I was walking out of the house to get it. Of course, the first thing I see and grab is the Sweeney Todd Revival.
We were going something about the different kinds of government and the first two people up were a Queen and Princess. The Queen played a song from her CD and if anyone complained, she could put them in jail. (Seriously, this is an actual assignment.) Bascially, the whole purpose of this was to explain the kinds of government. She (the teacher) tells me to get up and knock the Princess-now-Queen (the Queen "died") from the throne and take over.
So, I do and I realize I'm a dictatorship so when I have to play one song from Sweeney Todd, I pick the most evil one I could think of at that moment: Epiphany. I really think I scared/confused some of my classmates.
Edit: Are you able to explain what you said and tell your friend how it was misinterpreted?

Yeah, I explained what I actually meant by it, which was no insult whatsoever. It's just a fragile situation, so I feel bad that I was apparently unclear enough for that to happen.
I'm trying to decide between two people who may or may not have been in this dream. And they could not possibly be more different. Hmmmmmmm.
