Jordan is not going to be happy.
Personally I was intrigued by Awake. Sorry to see it go.
On a somewhat cheerier note Cougar Town was picked up by TBS.
17 shows cancelled
I figured MISSING would be cancelled and RINGER doesn't surprise me but I do wish they'd have hung on to them for a bit. After around the 4th episode of AWAKE, I got so bored with the repetitiveness of it I deleted it from my DVD list.
I will tell you one show I really did get into this year that I hope has a proper ending since it was cancelled as well - THE FIRM. In reality it was like a 20 part mini series following the same story but I really truly enjoyed it.
I liked Awake but Kyle Killen should have never had the show or his previous effort Lone Star to be on network TV. Those shows could easily survive on cable, like Southland did after being cancelled on NBC (put that in the long last of bad NBC prime time decisions).
I watched all of Bent on Hulu. It seemed that NBC was just unloading on that show to die but honestly, it had promise.

I have to say that I am deeply sorry to see GCB go. It had a rocky start, but became one of my favorite shows. Hope everyone involved goes on to bigger things!
GCB was basically the same thing every week, it seemed to be going nowhere. Which was a pity cause I loved the show and the cast, just wish it had something to say.
As much as I loved GCB, the cancellation potentially frees up Kristin to come back to Broadway in On the Twentieth Century.
As sad as I am about 'Missing,' I'm not surprised; hopefully they rap up everything in the finale- there's just one lose end left.
I am gutted about 'Alcatraz!' It became my number one guilty pleasure and the season ended on such a cliffhanger...
EDIT: 'Alcatraz' had a 3.4 rating average (The renewed 'Touch' only had a 2.8 ) ... I knew there was a reason I'm continually annoyed by fox other than their conservative mumble jumble.
This almost makes me as mad as I am at USA for canceling 'In Plain Sight,' which had some of the highest ratings on the network, but was cancelled to "make room for newer shows."
Sad about GCB. I enjoyed it even though it wasn't substantial. It had some of the best one liners of any show. I hope they release it on DVD.
I also like best Friends Forever. It always made me laugh.
Is it wrong that I haven't seen ANY of the shows listed and most of them I haven't even heard of.
I know I don't watch a lot of tv; but sheesh.
I wouldn't be surprised if TBS tries to get GCB as well.
All my shows got picked up so I'm altogether happy. I did enjoy GCB, so that stinks but yeah I'm not shocked. And Ringer, it was awful but it was an enjoyable awful on occasion. Sorry Buffy.

TBS is really trying to be a good comedy network! and i hope they succeed! hopefully they can become the comedy version of what TNT has become for drama...
I will miss Missing and Alcatraz
Sad to see Awake and Pan Am go.
I suffered through all 7 or 8 eps of The River, now we will never find out how the "footage they left behind" got found! One of the most ridiculous shows ever to air.

Aw, Ringer was a guilty pleasure of mine.

Today CBS announced they had canceled CSI:Miami after 10 seasons!
CSI and CSI:NY are getting new seasons..
And NBC announced that they are holding SMASH for mid-season which seems very strange.

I loved GCB, sad to see it go. I'd never heard of a surprising amount of the shows on the list.

New show-runner probably means a lot of evaluations and house-cleaning that should not be rushed.
I'm going to miss RINGER. Was definitely one of my guilty pleasures. Not surprised about MISSING though. I love Ashley Judd and I thought the idea was good but it's just not sustainable.

Ent Weekly got it right for me as to why Missing just doesn't work as a network series... Bad news for fans though, Judd already said that season one ends with a ton of answers hanging and no resolution....
Ringer was my guilty pleasure too (and at least we got a fairly good ending). While I found it laughable when the writers would be interviewed and act liek they were writing Shakespeare, I think for what it was it actually did a much better job at the twisting turns all actually having their own internal logic and filling plot holes, something these kinds of shows often suck at.
