I enjoyed the opening with Emily (but I enjoy anything with Emily). That's about it. Man, this show blows now.

With the spoilers I just read, it definitely looks like the writers are working towards the end-of-the-series wrap up.

I don't like that they told us next week would be a "proposal" episode. Though I'm assuming that was for publicity.

Yeah. I missed the scenes because of a remote control-related accident, so I went to my spoiler site. Although, given that it is slated to be the last season, we should all have known that big things are a'brewing.

Last night was the first episode I have missed since Season 5 (w/out taping it, etc.). Sad thing is, I wasn't that devestated. This season seems to be dragging until the inevitable. As much as I ADORE Christopher, I didn't need to see them actually get together. That was the first blah point for me. Also, it seems that a lot of the "Gilmoreisms" seem forced this season and not natural (the witty, fast talking, sarcastic coversations seem forced and acted. They used to seem natural and smooth). Just my thoughts.

Well, the title of the episode is "The Proposal", and the producer of the show said in an interview "Not to spoil it, but Lorelai and Christopher will do something in Paris that has five letters, beginning with E and ending with E"

*sigh*

You know, I understand that plot devices or twists that viewers don't appreciate (e.g. the Lorelai/Rory fight that went on foreeeever last season) can ultimately be a means to and end, but it shouldn't be so absolutely unbearable that people can't even watch the show anymore. That's the way I feel about Lorelai/Christopher. I don't feel that they're "it" (if they are, I'm really, really disappointed), but there's no way that I'm watching a relationship that drives me nuts play out just to be able to get to whatever comes after that. It's also going to be really forced to reconcile Luke and Lorelai if it happens (frankly, I don't really care anymore)... at this point, in as much as I care, I'd rather see Lorelai end up alone than with anyone.

I think it's evolved into a Carrie/Big situation. I never wanted her to end up with him, but there was just something about her (or the writers..) that wouldn't work with anyone else.

So... ugh for today's episode. I thought the premise was great, and even the situations. But it was so poorly executed. The dialogue was painfully bad. And

*spoiler for tonight's episode if you haven't seen it*

Lorelai and Chris getting married? Without Rory being there? No way. Plus it was obvious when they got back she was not ok. Hopefully the rest of the season picks up, though it doesn't look good.

that goes against everything the show was founded on - that Lorelai would get married without Rory.. total crap

And I thought last week's episode was painful! I've been trying to see the light on this Christopher and Lorelai storyline. I can get behind her needing to see this relationship play out since something has always gotten in the way of their relationship in the past, but having them get married in Paris is just wrong. I can't imagine that Lorelai would get married without Rory there and find the idea that Christopher would even try to talk her into it highly suspect.

Paris Geller = good

Paris, France = bad

I found myself fast forwarding through Lorelai and Chris to get to the Rory and Lane storylines.

I'm liking Rory's new girlfriends a little more. I must admit, the appearance of "boyfriend" took me by surprise, even though i had heard that Marty was going to show up this season.

I was expecting Lane to see Rory witht he new girls andf get a bit jealous.

At least they brought Marty back, I always liked him. And the cut to Brian's 'please pass the Bulgogi' was sort of funny.

Erm, I don't know, I guess I'm trying to delude myself into thinking that this show isn't as horrible as I know it really is. So sad.

Rev, I've been doing that all season, and yesterday I gave up. Although I still do like the Lorelai storyline better than the Rory. But I've always liked Lorelai better than Rory.

I think I'm going throw it in too. I grew up with this show though and it was embarassing how much I used to love it. Remember when Adam Brody was on it? Yeah, good times, lol. I've always like Lorelei's storyline too, and I was probably the only person who was actually enjoying those episodes last year where they didn't share any scenes.

I will still watch it- I just have to. And I still love the show (I have all 6 seasons on DVD), but this season is just BAD and I am done defending it.

Yeah, the wedding thing sucked. Now you know what will plague the next few episodes, everyone being mad at Lor/Chris for getting married without them. There will be the heartwrenchin scene when Luke finds out, etc. Blah blah, so predictable lately.

One thing....I cannot stand is when Rory cries! Is it just me, or is it so forced and over dramatic?

It is NOT you. It drives me up the wall, her crying is so fake. The worst is in the 4th season when she cries to Dean because she has to drop a class and is so overwhelmed. Awful. The ONLY time I believed her was in the last episode of the 6th season, when Logan left. She was actually good.

Lorelai, I always believe. I think Lauren Graham is brilliant. But that's a different story.

I like the fact that on ABC Family ay 7:00pm, they are playing season 1, where her and Luke's chemistry first comes out.....I miss the good ol Days, and it makes me want them together more now.

Well technically Rory should have taken Christopher's name when she was born anyway, but her mother decided for her not to do it. So now I'm sure she won't change her name.

O.K. I see two routes here one- shows numbers fall to a point where the writers just kill it quick w a Chris and Lorelei wed. OR- we have had a very interesing court case here in Canada a bout a mom who grabbed her kids went to FRANCE remarried there and it was over 5 years b4 the custodial parent (dad) could get 'em back to Canada. IF Gigi's mom decided to to a Kramer vs Kramer in France- she'd prob win- and SO to avoid this Chris could stay in France leaving Lorelei to return sad but also w the understanding that Chris was a rebound. UNLESS Luke has hooked up in the meantime- has anyone else noticed his newly discovered daughter ( the so cld reason Lorelei pulled back was his unwillingness to let her join him in spending time w that part of his life) has for all intense and purposes disappeared frm the story line? So they reach an understanding and WE ALL GO TO THE SEA SHORE!!
