The series finale is Tuesday. I didn't see the previews, but I hope it's good. It's so weird that this show is actually ending.

I'm just upset that they shot the finale before they all knew it was the series finale

^^ Me too. I feel like alot of storylines still need to be closed.

(But at least on the preview they showed Luke and Lorelai kiss!)

I'm going to miss Grandma most of all.

I wish I cared more about the finale tonight, but the show went so downhill this year that I just don't.

I'm upset that they are NOT using the final four words often spoke about by the creators to end the show (the four words that she knew would end the series years ago)

Here's hoping the DVD release of Season 7 has bonus features which reveal this - or at least an interview soon after the finale tonight.. Isn't anyone else curious how the show was SUPPOSED to end?

I fully agree Craig. I think they should have kept pace this season with the finale being the series finale. Once they started talks about renewing it just lost something to me. So tonight we will be left empty handed and that will ruin the bond I have with this freakin show.

However, I wonder if they left rights open for a possible Movie made for TV or regular release in the future?

I just spent 10 minutes crying. So far it has been VERY satisfying.

So far, I couldn't ask for a better ending to the series

Every single time they were about to get a true emotional and heartfelt moment.. they pulled back.. why?

Such a waste

I have teared up a few times, and clapped at the kiss, but otherwise I agree with Craig

See I disagree with you two completely. I thought the last show of Gilmore Girls was perfect. It had everything I could want in the episode.

I am so sad it is over, this is one of the few shows I watched every episode, almost all of them when they aired (I missed maybe 3 or 4 because I wasn't home over the 7 season).

I think it endedhow it should have.

I do wonder how the series was supposed to end had ASP not left the show, but for the disaster that I thought this season was, I was satisfied with the finale.

It was extremely reserved and well formed. It wasn't great, but as Kringas said, this season was so bad it could have been awful.
There were some great moments though.
The last scene was fantastic.
And every scene with Kelly Bishop was perfection as always. I particularly loved how she refused to let Richard get emotional and that they never let her get sappy.

Mostly I like that they pulled back. I mean in the fictional world Rory was going to work on campaign, she wasn't dying or anything. It was a very real goodbye, which made it more, not less effective.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

I couldn't agree more. If they hadn't pulled back it would have been way too much. I think everyone was the appropriate level of emotional about it, but it isn't like she will neer be home. I like how a lot of it was showing how proud people were of her.

And I was sort of fighting it ending...but this really was the perfect time with Rory graduating. I loved it when Emily was trying to find a way to keep Friday night dinners. That was great!

I will miss my Gilmore Girls though!

I definitely agree. I'll miss Kelly Bishop most of all. I still think Emily should have her own spin-off!

The more I think about it, the more satisfied I am with it. Generally when a long running show ends my biggest concern is that characters I've grown to care for will be all right. And I think everyone on GG will be all right, even if poor Sookie was forced to carry a child she didn't want. I still think we should have a very special Gilmore abortion episode.

I think this finale was just about perfect. They avoided overly maudlin scenes, and the characters rang true. Managed to find enough time for most of the supporting cast while maintaining enough focus on the main characters.

Agree completely with all the raves for Kelly Bishop. If there's been a better acted supporting character over the last seven years, I'm not aware of it.

This is Emmy's last chance to honor her. She should finally get a nomination, at least. She won't, but she should.

I'd definitely watch a Richard & Emily spin-off. Hell, I'd watch Paris & Doyle, or Lane & Zach!

Paris and Doyle would be fun, too. Lane and Zach's characters really suffered under the new writers, I thought, so I'm pretty much over them.
