Nowadays it is pretty much a given that people like this will get all the attention they seek. People like to point out how crazy they are and how we should all ignore them. Of course, they are pointing this out in the comments as they post and share them on Facebook. It really does not seem too hard to make your crazy video rant go viral these days, thus getting you all the attention you crave.

I'm not sure I see much difference in making the original video because she believed what she was saying, or because she wanted to upset as many people as possible.

You know, in the age of youtube where any loon can upload a video of themselves acting like a fool this is not surprising at all.
She was probably bored and thought she would push some buttons. There are thousands of videos just like this all over youtube. As someone earlier said, anything to get 15 minutes.
Her conviction does make one wonder though. Despite the "confession" of being a troll, I have a feeling that she probably really believes what she said.

This has taught me a new phrase about the interents -
Poe's Law is an axiom suggesting that it's difficult to distinguish between parodies of religious fundamentalism (or, more generally, parodies of any crackpot or extremist belief) and genuine proponents of religious fundamentalism, since they both seem equally insane. Conversely, real fundamentalism can easily be mistaken for a parody of fundamentalism.
