Golden Globe nominations

No Breaking Bad nom? What the what??? Did they see this past season? It was brilliant. Aaron paul should have been nominated as well. Also to me Parks and Rec and Community are the best comedies on tv. I rewatched Parks and Rec's rerun of the Model UN episode last night and I still laughed my butt off

Melissa Macarthy should have been nominated, she stole that movie. And no best song nom for The Muppets makes me angry

Shocked that Melissa McCarthy was not nominated for"BRIDESMAIDS" let alone that she was also not nominated for MIKE AND MOLLY.

Golden Globe nominations

Hopefully all this outrage will result in McCarthy getting an Oscar nomination.

The best thing that can be said about this award season is - at least at this juncture - the winners in any of the categories don't seem pre-ordained.

How the hell did Gary Oldman not get nominated for Tinker, Tailor! He was amazing and should be a front-runner for the Oscar.
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

Saw "The Artist" yesterday and loved every second of it. Worthy of every nomination it got.

I still have a long list to see: Hugo, Let's Talk About Kevin, The Decedents, My Week with Marylin, Moneyball, Shame... Thank god for that stack of AMC passes I still have.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

After rewatcjing 'The Help' today I really can see why Jessica Chastain has been getting all of the nominations that she has received.

"It is a shame Winnie the Pooh has been ignored for Awards season in favor of the inferior Cars 2 (and this will be a rare time I say this, but damn you, Lasseter!)."

One of the film's songs "So Long" did receive a Grammy nomination.

McCarthy did not have a press conference with the HFPA. Sadly, that pretty much explains her absence.

I agree beautywickedlover. Everything Chastain does is pitch perfect and no one can top her for versatility. If there were an oscar for teamwork, Chastain and Spencer would get it hands down! Their scenes together broke my heart. As it is, I can't foresee one of them being singled out for an oscar over the other though.

THE HELP may not be a great movie, but it's a surprisingly fine one with an amazing cast. And then there's Davis, who may just walk away with the oscar. No one can say it isn't a great performance. And it's certainly a leading one.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I love that Elton John just said on the NBC pre-show that Madonna "didn't have a f*cking chance to win tonight" in his category. (He was bleeped out.)

Carson Daly said, "Those sound like fighting words," and John added, "No, they're accurate words."

LOL

(He thinks Mary J. Blige will win for "The Help.")

Julie Bowen said on the Red Carpet that she doesn't think 'Modern Family' is going to won Best Television Comedy tonight. I hope she's wrong and that the award does go to the show tonight instead of 'Glee'.

ETA: She probably didn't expect to win an Emmy last year, so you never know.

Little late, but Gervais grilling Depp about The Tourist was incredible!! And then Depp saying no was just the icing on the cake!

Katharine McPhee and Debra Messing from 'Smash' are there. They waved at the camera before commercial break.

Elizabeth McGovern looks so like Katie Holmes tonight.
I just can't warm to Ricky Gervais.
Laura Linney should've won.

Madonna... "interesting" Golden Globes - and now The Show!

Poor Elton.
(And she can shut up, now).

Mary J. Blige should have won for 'The Help', in my opinion.

The Sinead O'Connor song from Albert Nobbs should've won I'd say - a beautiful song, sung beautifully. Yay for Madonna though, take that Elt.
