Thanks for the list, Taz.
I'm trying to think about who was overlooked... and then, of course, who I'd like to see win.

Posted: 12/14/10 at 10:02amTHE TOURIST is a musical or comedy? I watched the trailer and I got more of a thriller vibe.

THE TOURIST, really? Over such well-reviewed comedies this year?
#7Golden Globes Noms!
Posted: 12/14/10 at 10:22amI'm really surprised Alice in Wonderland and The Tourist got BP nods over Easy A. And maybe I have brain fog, but I don't remember getting a comedy vibe at all from The Kids Are All Right. It had a couple of funny lines, but I wouldn't classify it as a comedy.

I'm really happy that THE TOURIST got so much attention. I had the the best time at that movie and am going again today. And just watch: all reviews from this point on will be glowing for it.
I'm also thrilled for Mia Kunis. I'm praying her streak of nominations carries over with The Academy, as well.

I'm guessing that they put The Kids Are Alright in the comedy category b/c there was too much competition in the drama category.
It was kind of expected.
The snubs for best pic seem to be 127 Hours, Another Year, The Town, Winter's Bone, True Grit, and Rabbit Hole.
Some of those aren't really surprising, but I am surprised that Another Year was not nominated. Mike Leigh always does well at the Globes.

Posted: 12/14/10 at 10:40amI rally liked Natalie Portman in Black Swan, but I'm going to be rooting for Jennifer Lawrence. She was astonishing in Winter's Bone.

Posted: 12/14/10 at 11:03amAs in most years, they nominate certain people simply to make sure they show up to the ceremony. It's like the unpopular kid in the neighborhood who gives you his toys so you will hang out with him.

Posted: 12/14/10 at 11:04amNot a single nomination for Get Him to the Greek, the funniest movie I've seen all year? I'm very shocked that Another Year was snubbed, considering all the buzz that Lesley Manville has been getting.

Easy A deserved a nod for best film musical/comedy, that film was hailed as one of the all time great teen comedys.
Im SO SO happy to see the amazing Katey Segal FINALLY get a nomination for the incredible work she does on 'Sons of Anarchy'

I loved Get Him To The Greek also.
Also thrilled for Katey Segal!
It was a very unbalanced year. Many great dramas and very few worthy comedies.

Yeah for Amy Adams, Sofia Vergara, Julia Stiles, and Claire Danes!
Jim Parsons will probably win for Best Actor in a Television Series-Comedy, but I'm not a fan of his.
"Grey's Anatomy" had a terrific season finale, so I think it should have been nominated for Best Televison Series Drama.
"Date Night," "The Other Guys," and "Easy A" should have gotten a nomination for Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical."
Tina Fey, Steve Carrell also should have gotten a nomination for "Date Night" instead of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp.
Leonardo Dicaprio should have gotten a nomination for "Inception."
"Parks & Recreation" should have gotten some nominations!

Wow the Musical/Comedy category was more ridiculous than I could even dream up. The Tourist? Easy A definitely deserved a nod but yay for Emma Stone.
Everybody's been talking about Jacki Weaver in Animal Kingdom. Has it been released yet in the States?
Yay The Walking Dead!
Eric Stonestreet and Chris Colfer will be duking it out in the most bizarre, jarring category. God, I love the Golden Globes. I was hoping for Michael Shannon getting nominated.
I haven't seen The Special Relationship (Know what it's about and I can never get enough Michael Sheen as Tony Blair), how was it?

Posted: 12/14/10 at 11:49amI'm bummed that several people weren't given recognition: John Hawkes (Winter's Bone), Pierce Brosnan (The Ghost Writer), Lesley Manville (Another Year), Greta Gerwig (Greenberg), Kirsten Dunst (All Good Things), and especially Tilda Swinton (I Am Love).

Posted: 12/14/10 at 11:55amI think Cougar Town is way funnier than Glee. And based on the few comedies I watch, I can think of a few others more worthy than Lea Michelle. I watch Glee, but I don't think it is as funny as other shows that weren't nominated.

Nurse Jackie never came off to me as a comedy. If it's a comedy, Six Feet Under was a comedy. Surprised The Big C was nominated. Aside from Laura Linney and John Benjamin Hickey, I was not that impressed.
EDIT: And no Community. I expected this to happen to the point I forgot to be outraged.

Posted: 12/14/10 at 12:52pmYeah, the Musical/Comedy category this year is ridiculous. There were a number of extremely well-made movies that should've been nominated over dreck like Burlesque, Alice in Wonderland, and The Tourist.
#22Golden Globes Noms!
Posted: 12/14/10 at 1:14pmWas really happy to see The Walking Dead get a nod...and I'm hoping it wins. I was happy to see Kunis be recognized but was hoping Barbara Hershey would get a nom.

Cher deserves Jolie's spot in every way. I wasn't impressed with EASY A, so I am happy with BURLESQUE's nod.
THE TOURIST, however, is ridiculous.
#24Golden Globes Noms!
Posted: 12/14/10 at 1:55pmI thought Burlesque was the most over inflated bore of the year. I'm surprised it got a single nomination. At least The Tourist was pretty to look at.
