I've been pursuing writing for a few years now. I've written five books and sent out to agents on two of them. I pretty much gave up on the first one ever getting me anywhere. Earlier this year, I completed a middle grade book about kids at a theater school. The book is filled with references to musicals and follows a traditional musical comedy plot.
Today I finally landed an agent. I've been sending to agents for two years, and after many, many rejections, it's an incredible feeling to get some validation and to know that my writing career is really starting now.
Next comes some more edits then sending out to publishers. Hopefully in a couple of years (it actually takes THAT long even from this point) I'll be on here hawking my new book to all of you!

This is a seriously fantastic accomplishment, and you should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations.

Thank you, guys. I've been pretty much non-stop grinning since Friday when I got the initial email. Today was the phone call when I got the "official" offer.
Contract comes later in the week.
