This woman is mentally ill, and these children should be taken away from her. The doctor should lose his medical license. She already has six children, two apparently which have special needs.
God help these children.

well there is now apparently a story that the Grandparents went to the Dr. after the first 6 were born and told him not to to any more IVF treatment on her. The Dr. kept his promise, but octomom went behind his, and her parents' backs and had the IVF done by another Dr.
so who knows who is telling the truth. It's like Rashomon, but with a birth instead of a death.

If the Good Lord made you or your husband infertile, He obviously meant for you to adopt.
Fertility drugs go against God's Plan.
They should be made illegal.

don't worry, the stimulus package creates an advisory position which will use tom daschle's formula for determining who is allowed what procedures. people like her will be locked up and any "accidents" will be quickly ru-486'd.

Posted: 2/10/09 at 12:51pmSeriously! There are women who have had 3 failed IVF treatments, 4 miscarraiges and are still going back for more. For god's sake- take the hint. For whatever reason, they obviously weren't meant to have kids. I think it's just as unethical for doctors to treat couples in that situation. This woman had 6 healthy children already; dysfunctional family or not, that already sets them up for a better life than an upper middle class couple who has had 8 unsuccessful attempts and finally pops out a preemie with serious mental and physical defects.

The Department of agriculture can provide formulas, eggs, cheese, peanut butter, cereal, etc...for the mom and kids under the Women, Infant and Children's welfare program.
I wonder how much she can get....but I know those agencies can provide the basic needs of the mother and children up to a certain age...9 if I am not mistaken.

WIC only covers children up until age 6.
2 or 3 of the first 6 children are disabled, so she is drawing disability for them also. No doubt that some of the octuplets will ends up with disabilities and she will be able to draw additional money for them.
