I was thinking about giving my wife 6 children for Valentine's Day, but I guess some collagen might be cheaper!

I was referencing specifically the bill being sent for the birth of the babies and the post-birth care. Kaiser is sending a bill to California to reimburse it for the cost of the care.

Let us not even get started on the SSI three of her other children receive, the years of disability, the food stamps, and the other support she received WHILE DOING IVF.

And getting her lips plumped.

And going to school.

And getting French tips!

Yeah, and that.

With California's current budget crises, people are screaming about this.

Why should someone choose to have 8 babies at a time, and then expect the state to pay for it?

This is just disgusting.

Her whisperish voice freaks me out.

Who wants to take bets on how long those babies actually stay with that family?

Will she make them into a zoo exhibit like Apu did?

(the love-eight relationship only lasted so long)

Y, I assume that the California agency charged with child protection, will file a petition to have the children removed. I do not see how she chould show that the has the resources and time to take care of 8 infants and 6 other children.

Look at those babies! Every little girls dreams of growing up and having newborns with tubes stuck in them and shades to protect their not completely formed eyelids! Sigh. It just warms my heart.

Didn't this narcissistic nightmare learn not to litter?

So many aspects of the Dateline interview were chilling. Did no one else notice that in the new shots, she also seems to have had her forehead botoxed? Her face doesn't move -- what my Mama used to call a "doughface." I kept waiting for a decent follow-up question from Today Lite, Ms. Curry (whose expression, however, made the whole thing worthwhile). Like, "what do you mean, you had all of them put in, because you didn't expect any of them to be viable -- why did you think you needed an effing SEVENTH."

This is more than just a 15 minutes of fame stretching onward. There are aspects of this entire tale that provide a telling snapshot of just where this culture of our is at the moment. This sense of entitlement about giving birth. And "being a parent." It's hard work (chime in, fellow parents), a life commitment to raise ONE CHILD well. The idea that "lots of unconditional love" will do the trick isn't even Eisenhower era pablum. Where are the religious fundamentalists, so obsessed with "not playing God" when it comes to the whole Brave New World approach to conceiving in a petri dish and allowing monstrous occurances like this? This whole case - which will not go away -- is a lightning rod.

Wait, wait wait! Why is no one talking about her mysterious injury in the psychiatric hospital, and then disability because of her lower back pain! How can you be unable to work, but able to spit out, or have cut out, 14 babies?! How is that good for your aching back? Why isn't her "disability" part of her telling profile? And who, who, WHO is paying those medical bills? She was on her back in a private room for 6 weeks -- what did that cost? So much about this is obscene, and unanswered. And the coy answers about the "father." A man she doesn't even love or sleep with, but who apparently once j--ked off and let loose the potential for a sea of progeny.

Okay- parent chiming in here. I don't understand why a parent of 6- with 2 of them on disability feels the need to have more! WTF! It's hard enough for special needs children but to now have to deal with more babies. (btw- I felt sort of the same about Sarah Palin wanting a difficult job without really knowing how much attention her special needs child would need from his own mother. I know people wanted to use Trig as a poster child but maybe he doesn't want to be- anyway- I digress) I can't believe Octomom's publicist- yeah- publicist has been denying her plastic surgery when it's so obvious. Chelsea Handler zeroed in on the fingernails and wondered how a mother of 14 had the time and the money to get those done! This woman is so delusional! I feel sorry for the kids but you know there will be plenty of people willing to donate- which is just sick. okay- I'll step off my box now!

I love all the sidebar discussions, the TODAY show is having a field day, bringing in shrinks, money folk, there usual team of lite experts (only Barbara Corcoran hasn't popped up to say, "So get a foreclosed house already, bitch!") ... to chatter on about how she'll need a "special car". SPECIAL CAR?! (This is now JAWS, and the need for a bigger boat.) And someone said "$22,000" for food, per year. Even the finger-wagging discussions are delusional, built around her needs as though there's a whiff of a functional person in charge of the decision making here. Yes, America, if someone donates a "special car" or gives her diapers or apple juice and a Nate Berkoff master bedrom makeover, all will be solved. Queen for a day! A bag of Oprah's favorite things! Weeping, thank-yous ... NEXT. We can shed a tear and feel good about... OURSELVES... because we sat on our asses and watched some basket case who believes in "loving children" get freebies.

Auggie, to answer this question:

"And who, who, WHO is paying those medical bills? She was on her back in a private room for 6 weeks -- what did that cost"

Kaiser is asking for reimbursement from the state of California - so we are all being asked to pay for her delusions.
