Thanks, To The Stage! :)
One more thing I forgot to add to my list of ranting/oh my godness/whatever- I seriously think that Burke/Christina are going to break up before the end of this season. Now don't get me wrong- I LOVE them as a couple. But these little moments where they p*ss one another off are going to escalade until one of them breaks it off.

Hmmm...I guess I"m in the minority, but I didn't like the episode. Too gimmicky. The ending was ridiculous. Is it really a cliffhanger?

Just..weird. Not the Grey's I like. But yes, Addison ROCKS. And btw, Callie ROCKS.

Highlights of the episode? Definitely for starters was the elevator scene. That's just a perfect example of how great the show's comedic scenes are. You know and love these characters, and I could almost predict what each would say in that situation. And Chief's face... hah.

Callie and Sidney. I have a special soft spot for Callie already since she's a Broadway baby, but even now, she's becoming my favorite female character (besides Addison). This scene just cracked me up. And ironically, before Sidney showed up, I was thinking, "I haven't seen Sidney in a while..."

Karev is getting to be a real softie, too, and honestly -- I'm not objecting. Maybe it's just always a nice thing to see the hard-ass become soft. I wonder... does he have a personal relationship to the bruised woman, maybe? Identity isn't revealed yet, and she's a Jane Doe for now, yet they're becoming close (not just from him saving her). Just a theory.

Oh, and for another week, I continue to stand on the toilet and let Derek and Burke both piss me off. Ugh.

By the way, I've read several rticles/news posts that Elizabeth Reaser (unsure of the name of the actress) is joining the cast as a recurring character...do you think she's playing the pregnant woman that Alex saved from the rubble?

Yes, that is her. I think it's a 3 episode arc. I saw her name on the guest stars and flipped cause I love her. And then when I didn't see her I was very confused. Did a little research... and that is her.

Addison is so going to be chief. When she was ahead of him in setting something up. So good.

I read in TV Guide magazine that Elizabeth Reaser is supposed to be on for 9/10 episodes. Not sure how true that is though....

I wasn't really thrilled with this episode. Loved the elevator scene and the scene with Callie, Bailey and Sydney.

I don't think that the little girl was Izzie's daugher. Izzie's daughter is older than that, I think about 10/11-ish.

I really wish that the writers would stop dragging out the Addison/Alex thing. It's bound to happen eventually. I don't think their relationship will last that long anyway.

My theroy about Denny is that it will be similar to Meredith's "vision" of Derek in "As We Know It".

I also think that Chief will either go to Addison or Mark. Bailey obviously deserves it, but since the Chief doesn't seem to think she's "ready" she's not going to get it.

Izzie said last season that her daughter is 11 years old. That girl looked really young so...I doubt it's her, but that would be an insaaane plot twist.

I really did not like this episode. Hopefully I'll feel differently after I see the next two parts. But to me, it didn't feel like a Greys episode. I dunno. I just felt like a lot of it was over-the-top dramatic and trying too hard to be suspenseful. I wasn't on the edge of my seat so much as I was really confused. The entire thing had a creepy feel to it, with the whole 'drowning' theme and then Meredith literally going into the water at the end. And plus, the little girl creeped me out. She needs to talk!

I also think they're dragging out the Alex/Addison thing a little too far. I mean, yeah their chemistry is really hot, but they've been having so many like sexual tension moments that I feel like soon it will be overkill, unless something happens.

When Izzie was 16 she got pregnant. She wanted something better for herself, so she decided to give the baby up for adoption. Izzie heard from the parents for a while, but they lost touch.

I agree with you, losingmyreligion. Too me, the episode was too show off-y and not enough character development

The episode reminded me of (and I hate to admit this) an episode of ER. Too much "accident! explosion! blood! triage!" I missed all of the smaller moments, character-wise, that are trademark Grey's moments. Hopefully the two more action packed episodes will be the end of these since it's February sweeps, and afterwards things will return to normal.

Me too, Fantab. People watch it mostly for the doctors, not for the medical stuff.

What I think the problem was:
Grey's works because the medical situations always mirror the lives of the doctors, so you get inside information about their relationships without them necessarily having to come out and say it. With the ferry accident, there were SO MANY people, and so many problems. There wasn't time to get really acquainted with the guest characters. With it being the first in a three-part series, I think this was more the expositional episode, setting up what is happening. I think next week, when they get back to the hospital, we'll learn more about each character's story. This episode just had to set everything up.

Just my .02.

Very true. We can assume that there won't be any more guests appearing next week - they will all carry over from this week - the little girl, the pregnant woman, the woman with the lost little boy, and the man trapped under the car. And while I did compare the episode to an episode of ER, I can already start to figure out the paralleling relationships between characters and medical storylines, something that ER never had or has.

Didn't they cast Abigail Breslin as Izzie's daughter a while back?

I had little issue with the episode, as I never really feel like the big disaster episodes on Grey's are far-fetched. But two things: the people Izzie were helping were jerks (or have something serious to hide, like the dying guy escaped from prison or something), and that guy pushing Meredith off the pier was cheeeeesey.

No, she was just a girl who couldn't feel pain.

SPOILER:
They are currently casting a girl between the ages of 10-12 for an arc next season.

I agree with you, ashley0139. I think now that they've brought back several people from the ferry accident we'll be seeing more about the individual patients and the doctors. Not just medical stuff.

The pier thing was sort of cheesey. I mean, we know she's not going to die. (Although I wouldn't mind if she did...) She's the main character.

Couldn't they have pushed anyone into the water BUT Meredith? It's not even a cliff-hanger. They're not going to kill off Meredith. Then there would be no "Grey's Anatomy" it would be "Random Doctor of the Day's Anatomy." Pah. That really bugged me.

I think that Izzie is going to save the man trapped underneath the car, and that will give her some of her spunk back, because she's been doubting herself lately.

Oh, and that patient totally knows Alex.

Also, add me to the group of people who loves Addison even more so than before.

Ugh, I agree. Shonda Rhimes is all "I did kill off Denny and the bomb squad guy" (forget his name??) but come on, Shonda, they weren't even regulars. (Well Denny sort of was but he wasn't a doctor or anything.)

P.S. Can we be a little more careful with the spoilers? Because when it says "SPOILERS" and the spoiler is RIGHT there (no spaces or anything) I really, honestly can't stop my eyes from looking. Eeek, and I don't want to know! I mean I do but deep down, I don't. :)

I don't think anyone mentioned this yet...what did you guys think about the woman that George was helping? The one who wouldn't go into surgery unless they found her son? Judging from the previews for next week, it looks like they don't find the kid, and it's really sad. re: Grey's Anatomy

Well, I gathered from the preview two possible scenarios: either George KNOWS the boy is dead, or he just hasn't found him yet. I think that they were trying to make it look like the boy is dead already (by the clip of Bailey saying "What's she going to do when she wakes up and her boy isn't there") but I'm guessing he is still alive and they just made that statement intentially ambiguous. As in, I think they wanted the audience to assume "isn't there" is a euphemism for "dead" when really, in the show, he just hasn't been found yet. Or I could be totally off. haha.
