I found out some interesting tidbits of information from the blog Shonda wrote about Callie and Hahn. I'll link the whole thing incase nobody has read it yet. All I can really say is that I knew it was too easy to hook those 2 up. Also, I think Shonda sort of implies in this that Callie is just bisexual because she likes men still.

And with George, strangely enough I could relate to him in his storyline last night. Yes, it seemed like they just did that to him to give him something to do, but I definitely related to it from my high school days. And yes, for 1 lousy point, things can be as rediulous as they were on the show.
^^ Oh I could believe that things could be that redic for a one point shortage on an exam, especially in medicine. But, if the 'fix' is that George just takes the test again, why couldn't (didn't) that just happen after he failed the test at the end of last season? It didn't sound like the Chief would be pulling strings, that it was some act of impropriety or some level of difficulty to let George retake the test; it wasn't so much the one point, but the resolve of 'oh, just take the test again' that felt like a shorting of George's story.
Yeah, I don't know. Or maybe the Chief was waiting for George to come to him about it. I don't think there was anything said between either of them. Actually, it sounded more like George had no idea that he failed by 1 point, so maybe that's why he didn't fight earlier to retake the test. However, I don't know why nobody tried earlier to pull some strings for George.
I know when I was in George's situation, my teacher sent back my test to be rescored to see if I could get the half a point I needed to pass. Well, thanks to open ended questions, it worked. But that also sort of proves how subjective the test was. There is a lot more to this story too, but it's complicated and weird, so I will not go into all the details.
I absolutely and thoroughly hate, loather and despise Lexie. What an INCREDIBLY annoying character!!! Kill her off, Shonda, please kill her off. I can't believe Susan died, Ellis freaking Grey died, and now we have the one Grey that I CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT stand for anything in the world running around the hospital and kissing George. Ummm, can't they let George have a female FRIEND with whom he has NOT hooked up or tried to hook up with????
/RANT
I loved the episode (apart from the aforementioned Lexie annoying-ness), it was so well-done and featured two great storylines with the patients. The cement kid did marvelous acting and how much did I love those two ill kids who were oh so in love? Beautiful.
As usual Chandra Wilson steals the show. Since she isn't blonde, tall, young-looking, or skinny she gets little credit in this show but God can she steal a scene, hold on to it tightly and never let go of it for anything in the world. Her interactions with the cement kid were so fascinating (the bit about Han Solo was hilarious too) and her speech to Izzie at the end was perfection.
Sandra Oh was flawless as usual ("shut up, and let me work!" was great), and I don't care what anyone says but I really like Meredith especially when she talks to her shrink, it's fabulous.
Justin Chambers did such a good job as well as Elizabeth Reaser. I thought Alex crying while kissing Izzie was just...wow, a great moment, I think they are meant to be.
I want Hahn and Callie to end up together, they make such a good couple. I love the kiss but I also have the feeling Hahn is not going to go through with it. Good job GREY'S ANATOMY, in a week of lackluster season finales you guys pulled off one of the best episodes.
Shonda Rimes on Callie & Erica:
“Callie and Erica have an undeniable chemistry,” says Rhimes. “And watching the story unfold is something the writers are looking forward to. I wanted to illuminate their relationship in the same way we do all relationships on the show — it will be funny, sweet, honest, and a little bit dirty.”
It looks like they are headed for a relationship. However, in her blog, Shonda said we are going to be surprised by the direction it goes in. "It won't be easy for Callie. It won't be easy for Erica. It won't be easy for Mark Sloan..."
So, I am thinking it will go one of two ways. Callie is either pregnant or Mark just decides he wants to be with her. (The pregnancy thing is SO overdone in lesbian storylines, but it could work. Mark wants kids. Callie is torn. Does Erica want a girlfriend who is carrying her ex-fling's baby?) I can't imagine there is another way Mark could factor into this, unless Erica only wants Callie if the threesome is a possibility. I just can't see that happening. Gah. Is it September yet? 32-36 episodes next year.
Callie is so pregnant, I think. That's what I got from her getting all flustered when she arrive talking about the "really bad trauma."
I was jokingly thinking the pregnancy thing too. Actually, I also was thinking about Mark still wanting Callie too. People all seemed certain he was glad that he got her to confess her love to Hahn. However, I really don't think he was standing outside watching them for that reason. But, I could be wrong. Glad to know I'm not alone with this now. Although, the pregnancy thing is getting on my nerves now because what will this be now? A 3rd season with Callie possibly being pregnant or people thinking she should get knocked up? Sure, I love Callie to death, but she needs to not be the character to knock up anymore.
Hey, it's the first season finale she has survived with a smile. Season 2, George couldn't say he loved her. Season 3, George slept with Izzie and she knew even though she didn't. People always want SOMEone to be pregnant. With this show's timeline, I feel for the actress. Wearing a pregnancy belly is rough, but imagine doing it for two full seasons.
So, do we think Private Practice will survive? I don't think so. It only aired 9 episodes and then will be off for like 8 months. Will people even care when it comes back?
I didn't realize it only aired 9 episodes, that's not good, but I do believe it was the highest-rated new drama of this past season, and I'm sure ABC makes sure everybody remembers when it comes back.
Yeah, I tried to get into Private Practice, but it was too boring. I think I watched 3 episodes before giving up. I really wouldn't mind seeing it gone, only if it would bring Kate Walsh back to Grey's. :) But that being said, I hope if that was to get the axe this season, that my other favorite show, Pushing Daisies, doesn't get the axe either. That aired before Private Practice and I loved it.
PUSHING DAISIES is a critical darling and from what I understand the folks over at ABC love it (and so does the audience) so I don't think it's going anywhere. It's definitely coming back for a second season (I believe it got the full order) and hopefully it'll stick around for a while, it is such a brilliant TV show.
PRIVATE PRACTICE is...okay. That's all I can say about it. Perhaps I just can't get into it because I'm still bothered about Addison having left GREY'S. When Kate Walsh made that guest appearance, it was clear that she belongs on GREY'S.

Pushing Daisiesss!
It needs to be back. like now. I'm illin' for my Lee Pace/Anna Friel fix!! <3
LOVE that show so so so much. It's definitely the best, most creative show to air in a long time
I just couldn't get that invested in the characters on PP. I wanted to. I love Addison, but I miss her interactions with the SGH people. And I WANTED to love Sam and Naomi if for no other reason than it's Audra and Taye. I watch the show and will continue to. Hopefully it will get better in the fall. If it does go, I hope Kate isn't too proud to bring her skinny behind back to Grey's. Although, 13 cast members is a LOT. Hey, that gives Heigl a chance to persue her horrible film choices.
Yah, Izzie is just totally useless, and definitely showed that in the past few episodes. Thank goodness she was given minimal screen time and it was given to the right characters. I will admit though, that I do have a thing for Katherine's movie, 27 Dresses. It was cute and really funny. Knocked Up was funny too, but otherwise, I don't care what Katherine Heigl does. Izzie is just too damn annoying.

still not getting the hate for izzie but we can agree to disagree on that one.
i've rewatched the season finale about 3 times now because it was just THAT GOOD.
still i found it kind of unbelievable that meredith had the time to go out and get all those candles...
the writing on this one was so good. i liked how one character's dilemma tied several characters together. ava slit her wrists in the very same kitchen that ellis did...karev takes care of her because he took care of his mother the very same way and meredith comes home to find ava's blood in the kitchen and gets down on her knees and starts scrubbing away at it in very much the same way she probably had to when her mother tried to kill herself.

I guess my Izzie hate stems mainly from my Callie love. I can relate to the chunky misfit that Callie was when she first came on the scene. I can't relate to the girl that was a complete and total bitch to her with no reason. Izzie started hating her before they really interacted. Season 1 & half of season 2 Izzie was fun. I liked her and could understand her quirky ways. Once she started hating Callie she changed. Her whole, "What about me?!" screamfest to Denny was AWFUL. I felt for her when Denny died. I did. Then she started pulling the crap with Callie again shortly thereafter. Callie cooked for her when Denny died. She was the first one to say it was a good think when Izzie came back. Then when Meredith almost died, Callie was trying to comfort Izzie by saying that Meredith was strong and a fighter. Izzie shot back a hateful load of garbage. Then she went and screwed George. She's kind of gotten back to being Izzie recently, but even Heigl said she didn't understand her character anymore. She said the George/Izzie pairing was a ratings stunt.
Yeah, Izzie is just too selfish and needy for my liking. It is from a personal experience of mine once too where I dealt with living with someone like that, when I was having major problems of my own, and had nobody to talk to. I just can't stand people like that. It definitely was the Denny situation that sent me to not liking her a lot. Her treatment to Callie was just the final thing, and I still think she hasn't learned too much.
So, we might not be thinking off about Callie ending up pregnant next season. I read a spoiler from Ausiello that one of the characters in one of kisses from the season finale is pregnant. Now, Callie is the most logical since she had all the sex with Mark. I think it is too late for it to be Meredith, Lexie, or Izzie. However, it also could be Izzie, only if she did sleep with Alex in the finale. I sure hope she didn't though because that is the last thing that Alex needed, and again, that shows poor character on her.
Sorry, I missed it.

Would it be inconceivable for it to be Adele?

No, because she was already pregnant this season but miscarried.
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
Yeah, I am going with Callie, too. Shonda said that things would not be easy for Callie, for Erica or for Mark. I can't imagine how Mark could play into the scenario unless Callie is pregnant. They wouldn't have the balls to play out Callie having an actual bisexual dilema and being physically and EMOTIONALLY attracted to both of them. If it ever came down to that, she would HAVE to choose Erica or people would get all up in arms about it.
I also think Shonda may be putting feelers out there to test the waters and see how it will be taken. I don't think anyone wants it. We'll see.

I had almost given up on Grey's, but the last couple episodes have actually been very good, I think. I'll keep watching next season.
I'm a sucker for a good romance, so I loved the Meredith/Derek thing a lot. I just wish they would bring Addison back. She made the show!
The thing about Meredith and the candles... earlier in the season, Derek showed Mark the land where he wanted to build the house. To get there, they walked up a dirt road in the middle of the forest where Mark stepped in a big mud thing. He complained about how much longer it was going to take, as he was wearing $300 shoes. But now, apparently, the land is easily accessible from the trailer and visible through a small clearing. Not only did Meredith find 400 candles and holders or bags or whatever and manage to get them up there, lit and perfectly aligned, she also either moved the trailer or the land. You know what? Still more believable than thinking George and Izzie were ever attracted to one another.
