I understand what you are saying, but I can not get behind the idea of Hugh in the movie. Hugh is always "Hugh," and that does not work for Harry Potter for me.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

I'll bet lots of money that Nevilles will take out Bellatrix. Wasn't she the one that tortured his parents into insanity?

Well, sp78, unfortunately I'm right and you're wrong. So bow down and we'll move on. re: Harry Potter Fans

I love Kenneth's Lockhart, but when it was looking like Hugh would be cast, I was perfectly okay with that too. Besides, that movie is so bad that I don't think it really matters who plays Lockhart.

I read the section in GoF today about the 3rd Task and Voldemort coming back. I'm amused that everytime I read that part I keep thinking, "Okay, this time don't touch the cup. Stay away from the cup Harry."

Eponine, yes Bellatrix is one of the ones who tortured his parents and I would also love to see Neville get to confront her.

Or Harry taking down Bellatrix to avenge Sirius' death.

As long as Bellatrix gets killed, I am cool with it. I was sad when she killed the poor innocent little fox at the beginning of HBP (yes, I AM a freak.)

I can see Hugh as Lockhart, but I love how Kenneth played him. Kenneth is an amazing actor.

With all this hatred towards Dobby, I wonder if they will include Kreacher in Order of the Phoenix? They might just try to get around the subject. BUT OOTP has a new screenwriter! So I am expecting better things that Kloves has given to the HP fans. Especially a substantial development in Ron's character. Most HP fans have dubbed Kloves as "The Ron Killer." Which I believe is true.

So, I know that early on, during the first movies, the people who were working on the film had said that midway through, at like the 3rd or 4th movie, they were going to switch the actors playing the teenagers because they looked too old. It doesn't appear that's going to happen, does it? I don't think that it would be very wise, because people associate all three of the trio with the characters that they portray, and I don't think anyone else could replace them.

Unless there is a SIGNIFICANT delay (I'm talking years) they should not consider replacing any of the teenage actors. re: Harry Potter Fans

First people in their early twenties play teens all the time, these actors are no where near that old. Secondly they keep growing and developing into the parts, exactly as it is in the books we get to watch these kids become adults.

I just hope they can pay them enought to keep them around. re: Harry Potter Fans

I agree. I think that plenty of people play parts that are younger than their actual ages and nobody knows the difference.

Yes, like the actors on the O.C. are supposed to be like, seniors in high school, when most of them are at least 25.

Going back to the idea of re-reading HBP and having a discussion on it when it's fresh in our minds. I have a long train trip in about a week, and was thinking I'd take it with me to re-read. I haven't read it again since the first time this summer, so I'm all in for it!!

And, I definitely think Snape is good, and it's very obvious that Malfoy didn't want to kill Dumbledore, so I think he'll turn out to be good in the end, too. He's always talked big, but not really been able to follow through. Remember how much of a wimp he was when Hermione pulled her wand on him in POA? He's really just the product of poor parenting!

Yes, maybe. But he does call Hermione "mudblood". THat's quite naughty.

Me too. I don't know if he'll wind up "good", he just won't wind up "bad" enough to do any damage.

Should we give everyone a deadline to finish up their other books and then start on HP6 again together?

That sounds good. I think we should give at least a week to finish whatever we're reading now or to get caught up on earlier Harry Potter books if people want. Personally, I don't like to switch between novels, especially if one of them is as vivid as the Harry Potter books.

JK said in an interview that Snape has been loved before, and Voldemort hasn't, which may make him (Snape) even more of a reprehensible villain (I guess in the sense that he shouldn't have Voldy's apathy). Still, I think that this fact is probably significant because it'll show that perhaps he isn't totally a sociopath and will go "good".

"The world is not divided into "good people" and Death Eaters."

Snape is not "good" he is troubled character whow has made some horrible decisions, but I think the series will be incomplete if he does not find a way to some kind of redemption.

One of the major points of the books is that our actions in the face of circumstances are what makes us who we are.

I just read 6 again about two weeks ago, so there is no need to wait for me. I am ready to converse right now. re: Harry Potter Fans

I just re-read HBP, but I will definitely read it again. We can have the BWW Book Club. =P Except ours will not have the drama of Oprah's.

I can't wait for the HBP movie! They better bring Christian Coulson aka Tom Riddle back! I need to stare at him. =)

Well, that's what I mean SmartPretentiousAss78. re: Harry Potter Fans (Can I say *ss?) He's not "good" - he's been a bastard (can I say that?) for the entire series, save for the end of book 6 (can I say 6 when it sounds like s*x?). I do think he'll redeem himself some how. Do you think the Lily/James thing will play into it?

Made by someone else entirely, so :-p
