JKR said Lily is gonna be big in book seven, as well as the professions of the Potters.
Oh, and Lily's eyes are a big thing too.

Posted: 2/3/06 at 10:12pmI couldn't remember if it was Lily's eyes that was significant, or the fact that Harry inherited her eyes.

I believe it is the green color.
The avada kedavra curse is green....so maybe there is something there.

I think I can be ready to read and discuss HBP next weekend. I may have to neglect some school work, but what's more important, Harry Potter or Graduate School?
I'm sure Lily is going to be very important to the resolution, as are her eyes and the fact that Harry inherited them.

Posted: 2/3/06 at 10:44pmOkay. I'll spend tonight finishing the Harlequin, this weekend finishing HP5 and the week finishing HP6 (in Seattle with Camerangel and DayDreamer next week!).

Posted: 2/4/06 at 5:48pmI'll be out of town next weekend, so I'll jump in the discussion when I get back on the 13th! Just thinking about it after I read it I found more clues, so I can't wait to see what I find during the second read!

I seem to have misplaced HP5 last night. Checked everywhere...it's not a doorstop...or a stool...how can I lose a book that's the weight of my head??
Some time next weekend still works for me! I hopped in and out of the original clues speculation thread here when the book first came out but it'll be more satisfying to take our times our second time around!

Posted: 2/4/06 at 6:43pmYeah, around then. Once I find the "doorstop", I'll re-read HP5 on my trip, and start reading HP6 around Friday or Saturday, if things turn out right!

Is anyone still interested in discussing HBP? I finally finished OotP the other day and started in on HBP.
I don't want to step on any toes, but I would propose that the best way to discuss the book is to do either a chapter by chapter or section by section format, there is just too much to the book to get into all at once. I would be willing to put together a summary of each section or chapter with questions to begin the discussion and we could try to spend 2-3 days on each.
Is anyone even remotely interested? What format would you be interested in for a discussion?

How in the blue hell did I miss this "HP Book" club idea?
I am on board for a discussion and I like the chapter by chapter approach as I am bit of a slow reader and have my plate full with the podcast, BWW Idol and real world junk.
Sounds like a plan though providing we can work out the details.
I need an excuse to re-read.

I am sooo in!
I like the chapter by chapter, if we can sustain it that way (although the sections would be relatively small, I think, so that way would be fun as well!)
Let us do it!

Hooray!
So we have two votes for a chapter by chapter discussion. Anyone else?
I figure most chapters could be pretty thoroughly analyzed in about a day or two, but some of the more eventful ones could take longer. It would probably be best to play it by ear.
One more question: When would everyone like to start? This weekend? Monday to give people time to start the book?

I could probably start whenever. Monday for discussion might be best.
Are we starting with Book One and going forward?
YM78, I nominate you as the head of the "book club".

You might want to start a new thread specifical for the book club though so you have the ability to edit the subject line for where we are, what's coming up, etc.
BTW...I KNOW Anji will join in on this one.

I think we were going to just do six. Although, I could always read them all again.
Maybe we should start with six, and if it works jump to one.

I've seen things like this done so that one person provides a summary/analysis of the chapter to jump-start discussion, but that doesn't seem essential if we'd want to be more informal than that.
I'd prefer to start with six, if only because I feel that I've almost analyzed at least the first four to death already.

Ah, okay. I guess I can go there.
Although, any opportunity to read 5 again would be nice.

We could go backwards so that only the hardcore freaks are still there by the time we get to one.
I also say Yoda should moderate (if she wants to) and second the "new thread" idea.
