Posted: 6/20/05 at 4:54pmbig? I mean, I'm wearing a SMALL shirt right now (button up) and it's effing huge on me. I can't believe I used to wear a medium from there. Their shirts are just so big. I don't know...have you all noticed this too?

Fatass here and I enjoy the breathing room.
But-- you wear Old Navy SMALL and the largest size at another store won't fit? Was that a childrens store?

Wow, I feel ridiculously tiny........
I can wear the second to largest size in limited too (not that I actually *do* but just saying).
As for Old Navy some of their stuff is too big on me.... but I kind of like that I can wear a 4 or 6 in there.

Posted: 6/20/05 at 5:38pmI only really wear tops from Old Navy, and I'm an extra-small. I'm normally a medium, so...

Posted: 6/20/05 at 5:39pmYeah..Old Navy's size one is too big on me, as are their extra small tops. Definitely unusually large.

Clothes from EVERYWHERE are too big on me since I'm only 5'1". My shorts come from the kids department, and I wear an adult small or medium t-shirt (depemds on the cut/brand) and I have to hem all my skirts.
Shoes are another thing... my Crocs and Adidas are a size 5, but my Etnies are a size 9. I can never go by numbers and have to try everything on.

Posted: 6/20/05 at 9:36pmI'm only 5'11-ish (and still growing), so I definitely noticed it. I've been trying to lose weight lately-so I'm extremely self conscious of how my clothes look on me.

It's my favorite shirt. I have found me wearing the same shirts over and over...so today I went into my closet and found some of my old clothes that looked like crap on me before-but now look really good. *squeals*...wait...I don't like fashion...I don't think...eek. I wore one of my Old Navy shirts today that I've only worn like...2 times (since January) and I had to give it to my oldest brother because it was THAT big. It's a nice shirt too. If it had been an XS, I would have loved it and worn it as much as the orange one.

This is amusing...as I work for corporate offices of GAP (which owns Old Navy) and we hear THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what you are all talking about from consumers!!
They complain that the ON fit is too SMALL and the shirts (t-shirt variety) are too short and too tight for those who don't wish to be baring the belly.
As a consumer there myself, I've always thought the main sizing issue is that it's not consistent. You can buy a size 8 pant in one style, then buy a size 6 in another style!
If you really want to let the Corporate honchos know what you think, go to our Gap.com site and link to customer service.

Posted: 6/20/05 at 11:07pmsmall fits me perfectly at express... but thats like, an extra small at other stores... old navy does tend to be a little bigger on me too for that reason...

Posted: 6/20/05 at 11:55pmYeah, you can. The same way you can use a Borders Books gift card at a Waldenbooks and vice versa.
