HELP!!
I am wanting to organize a cabaret night as a fundraiser for the Susan G Komen 3 Day Walk. The benefit performance is going to take place at a local piano bar with intimate space. Anywho, I'm trying to think of songs with a contemporary broadway feel that speak of hope, inspiration, dreams, and love. I know that I want to use "Light" from N2N and "Seize the Day" from Newsies. If anyone can think of suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks :)

what shows are ring them bells and titties n' beer from? Also, I do need some songs of hope as well as fun boobie songs :)
Ring Them Bells is a song written for Liza Minnelli by Kander and Ebb.
Ya want an uplifting( soory!) song? @ a Gilda's Club Fundraiser they sang "I Know Where I've Been" from Hairspray. I know it's a civil rights song but it is also a song about endurance and survival and ultimately persevering through. Can I tell you- not a dry eye and a 2 min standing ovation. But do you have sa belter who can do the song (sic) justice? Otherwise don't.

I'm picking the songs first and then auditioning people for the benefit. That way I can see the talent level first and assign songs second. I love "Where I've Been" from Hairspray, that will be a great fit.
Thanks for all the ideas so far, please keep them coming :c)
You Can't Stop the Beat could also work as a closing group number. It could be as if they're telling the disease they won't be stopped.

Meanwhile how about Titty Titty Bang Bang?

I love the song You Can't Stop the Beat, but I want to close the show with Light from N2N because it has a feel of times are tough now, but eventually it will all work out and be good. If I do another benefit though, You Can't Stop the Beat would be the finale for me.
JerseyGirl-what is Islands in the Stream from?
ghostlight-what is Look What Happened to Mabel from?
'Islands In The Stream' is a Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers duet
'Look What Happened To Mabel' is from MACK & MABEL
Charles DeForrest wrote a song called "Know What I've Learned" that should work.
And David Feldman wrote a song inspired by the death of Nancy LaMott's death from cancer called "Trust the Wind"

"Only for Now..." from Avenue Q. It gives the feeling of hope, that life is sometimes difficult but it can and it will pass and life will become better.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, my list just keeps growing! There are so many songs that will work beautifully with what I'm attempting. Hopefully, I won't blow my first directorial role :c)
