Thats a good point. I never really thought about that. And the wonder twins are also annoying!
Wow! This was a good episode.

I loved how the episode looked like a string of comic book frames - that shot of Hiro in the cemetary under the tree and the huge sky, Bennet and Suresh in the car when we saw just half of Bennet's face, the shot of Bennet being hit with the bullet, Claire with the sign on the ground. Plus, maybe I'm wrong, but the shot of Bennet twirling as he's hit looked a LOT like a painting from Stephen King's Dark Tower series if I remember right....
I got the feeling it was Bob who saved HRG, since he was shown earlier drawing Claire's blood. Her ability to heal herself would be the only thing to save him, right.
Of course, that is what they want me to think ...
I thought tonights episode was hit and miss. Some of the twists and turns were great while others were blah.
Maybe it's because this is Season 2, but the finale doesn't look as intense as Season 1. But that might be because we know more what to expect...
And I wonder where they're going to take this next season.
And lastly - if any of the Heroes still has the ability to time travel, couldn't the showdown take place infinitely until they succeed?
Craig - that was exactly what I was thinking. Peter was saying he didn't know when the virus was released -- yet he can time travel. Doesn't make sense. They've written themselves into a corner with Peter anyway - he can do ANYTHING, can't be killed, but still need to make him interesting and have actual obstacles. Where's his kryptonite?
This is only the mini-finale next week, right? From what I understand, they divided the season in half and are doing two story lines. This is the end of the first - and we won't see the second until the writers' strike is done...
Well that woman tonight said something about shooting Adam in the head as if that would make a difference. So maybe Peter isn't 100 percent protected. I would also assume that a virus could be his undoing - whether the Shanti or some other one. There's always a way
One also has to wonder why if Adam has lived all this time, why he didn't go after Hiro...
I am so conflicted about this show, they do a good job of introducing characters and concepts (sometimes) but the payoff is consistently disappointing.
The answer to your questions, which are the ones I have as well seems to be, there are no rules until they think about that problem.
The seem to have finally established that Claire and Adam/Kensei could die by decapitation, but Peter could just as likely be written out of that if they felt like it.
Which leads to my big issue with the show, there are no stakes. They can make an upsetting move like killing off Bennett, then just bring him back, now they could go into the past and change things (or suddenly decide time travel CAN't change things, which they sometimes think they have established.)
Powers have no limits, and characters keep repeating the same arcs over and over. Which is such a waste of some good promise.
And I say all this having really liked most of the last 4 episodes.
It's 2nd season familiarity I think. The first season was intense because they created this universe and characters all of which were compelling and fresh. This 2nd season (for me) hasn't quite had that same "oh my g-d" or "WOW - Holy Crap" moments like Season 1.
It's been interesting - but not riveting I guess.
It is a bit worse than that though, because most shows suffering a "sophomore slump" or familiarity don't have the creator on record as saying he just thought the fans would want to see the same characters going through the same things a second time.
There was no build on the things we learned last season, and some of it doesn't matter at all (such as anything out of the finale)
There have been some moments that made me intrigued this season, but even those have been pretty quickly blown.
Here's an answer to the series/season finale question:
Heroes Season Finale Next Month?
Writers strike could turn December 3rd episode into the finale.
by Eric Goldman
November 2, 2007 - As we related in our article about the writers strike beginning this Monday, Heroes is in a slightly better position than many other series when it comes to what could be a severely truncated TV season. Unlike the first season of the show, which told a story arc going across every episode, Season 2 had been structured to tell two or three smaller arcs. The current story (or "volume") is called "Generations" and was already set to wrap up on the December 3rd episode of the show, with the next volume intended to begin airing shortly after.
This gave the show a better place than most to prematurely end the season, as it least was intended as the culmination of several current plotlines. While more episodes have been shot beyond that, they would likely simply be held for whenever the show goes back into production, so that the next storyline doesn't have to be interrupted in the middle.
TV Guide's Michael Ausiello now reports that in addition, the producers of Heroes are going back and filming a new ending for that already completed December 3rd episode, which would better serve to turn the episode into a true season finale. If the strike is somehow averted, they wouldn't use this more specific ending and go back to the original footage they shot to lead into the next story arc.

I thought the episode was pretty good tonight. Very happy to see Sylar back (and shirtless to boot!), even more happy to see whiny Alejandro gone. I like that Kensei is actually proving to have had a point now that he's partnered with Peter.
The producers have admitted they thought viewers would want the same buildup as we did last year, and admitted they were wrong - hence the faster pace in recent episodes. It'll be sad to see it disappear for awhile now that the show was actually going somewhere.
Tonight's finale was anti-climatic to say the least.

So next season is going to be about Sylas and him having powers again? Isn't that jumping the shark a bit?
I agree with Petrelli's comment (paraphrasing) - how long will they have to clean up their parents messes.
If Adam can't die unless show in the head - will they jump the shark later like they just did with Sylas?
