also, if i may add, i love it how every horrible, apocalyptic occurance (nuclear bombs, tsunamis, alien attacks, etc.) always have to happen in New York. being a Boston baby, this makes me happy. no one has the guts to come after us :)
I am sure that was a joke, but still...(and when you say guts, you of course mean there's nothing up north to attack, save for the Boston Red Sox - and, well, c'mon....)
JON - you only think that because that 'hot girl from Final Destination who used to have brown hair and then got all cool and Hollywood and died it blonde or maybe vice versa, but still' broke a mirror.
And I agree. It's X-Men without the bald guy from space.

my mom wont let anyone in the family watch it because too many people seem to be jumping to their deaths (from the commericals I can see where she gets this idea)
I wonder how many stupid people will try to fly now
Majority of the show was mostly a bore but that Japanese guy pretty much made the show for me. Anyone else want to just smother him with hugs everytime he screamed "I DID IT!" Ah. Precious.
The preview for the season to come looks really good, but then again, so did the preview for the pilot. I don't know if i'll keep watching. I think i'm gonna stick to a couple more episodes. It might get better as the season goes on.
No, I agree. Very typecast. Also VERY BORING. His whole character was driving me out of my head with boredom.
Yeah, it didn't quite grab me. I also hope that these gene shows up in 3rd world countries as well...
I found it interesting, and certainly a lot better than that awful new show, 6 degrees. The trouble is, I watched Studio 60 first, and it has got to be the best new show on television - there just isn't better writing out there right now, and nothing else seems to compare. But I will give Heroes a chance, because it held my interest at least.
I unfortunately have to catch up to this late tonight but I'm glad it's going to be character-driven. I caught a sneak peak of the first ten minutes or so and I think it's highly intriguing and promising, so we'll see tonight, I guess.
As for th ebest new show on television, I keep hearing more and more and more about Ugly Betty being the next best thing, so we'll see after a few more weeks (it premieres this Thursday, I think) what really is the best of the best.
What I do know is I gave the Class one more chance last night and blech poo.
I also loved it. I'm just gonna be conflicted when 24 returns opposite it.
Interesting premise...love how the characters are all linked. And the previews look incredible (ie the Japanese guy seeing himself in the comic book).
Like I said in the "Brothers and Sisters" thread, you should always give a show a chance past the pilot. Pilots are sometimes dragged down by the introduction of characters and setting up potentially terrific stories.
I agree with redhot. Six Degrees was a major disappointment. I was looking forward to it, but after one viewing, that's it for me. But I loved Heroes. And the funny thing is it wasn't even on my radar before yesterday. I hadn't paid any attention to the promos and wasn't planning on watching. From the sound of it, I thought it was going to be about firefighters, policeman, etc. I had no idea it was about Super Heroes until I read a review of the pilot in yesterday's paper. I'm really glad I watched. I loved it! My only complaint (which has nothing to do with the show itself) is that I don't think it's paired off very well with Studio 60. Both shows would seem to have a different audience. Although again, I have to agree with redhot; Studio 60 is by far the best new show of the season. The writing is intelligent and the cast is uniformly excellent! And I absolutely loved the musical number in last night's episode! If only Saturday Night Live were as inventive and clever.
They can't give it all away in the first episode. I thought it was interesting. I just hope they don't do to it what they did to SURFACE and give us an entire season only to cancel it after a cliffhanger season finale. I'll be watching.

I'm still interested in the show, so I'll watch it next week too.
Oh, and am I the only one who thought the guy who flys kind on looked like John Lloyd Young close up?
"I know what you mean, Jersey! I haven't watched anything on Monday Nights in forever! Well, almost forever... there was Boston Public way back when."
With a screen name like Nina Myers, you don't watch 24 on Mondays? :P
I am excited to see where this show goes.
but its ture Masi Oka really made the show.
"YATTA!" -doesn't really mean "I did it!" It's really just "Yay! Whoopie!" :)
I loved the play on his name Hiro when they called him "Supa Hiro" (Super Hero) way cute.
I loved it -- it was a little on the slow side, yes, but the POTENTIAL here is awesome - and from the looks of the previews, it looks like it's going to get very good. I loved the Japanese guy and the cheerleader, and I'm intrigued by Ali Larter's character (what was the deal with the psycho-mirror double?). I'll definitely be watching...
And as for best written dramas (comedy is a whole other category) - it's a three way tie for me between Lost, Veronica Mars, and Battlestar Galactica.
If anyone missed this last night (like I did), they're repeating it now (8 p.m. on the East Coast).
I loved the Japanese guy, and yes, I wanted to smother him with hugs, too. I love how he constantly cited Star Trek.
I'm very intrigued by it... it definitely holds promise. So I'll be tuning in next week.
Does it matter what it means?
No, no it doesn't. :)
Just watched the pilot rerun tonight - I loved it! I work Monday nights, so I guess I'll finally have to get around to hooking up my VCR.
I think I must sleep because I thought the thread titled was "Herpes"
I thought it was very intersting--beautifully shot and edited...intriguing premise--a bit short on action, yes, but I think we're going to see many plot-heavy, multi-story series now in the vein of Lost and 24.
Yes, a total X-Men rip-off, but since they referenced X-Men in the pilot, I'd say it more of an homage.
Hmm, I probably wouldn't say it's a TOTAL X-Men rip off yet. I mean, none of them have wings or have blue fur on them so far.
Okay--maybe not a total--but the conceit is certainly identical
