deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say

our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Why do you ask, touchme? Does Obama support gay marriage?

Posted: 1/29/08 at 2:27pmOh, heavens no. Obama, like Clinton, says that everyone should have the same rights, but we should have a gay drinking fountain (civil unions) and a straight drinking fountain (marriage). Separate but equal, you know?

Posted: 1/29/08 at 5:59pmWell, to be honest, Clinton didn't really "speak" about this, she answered a question about it. I haven't heard her talking about this at rallies.
#12re: Hillary Clinton on LGBT Teens

So I watched it, PJ--perhaps she's the only candidate speaking of it, but what's this about her supporting NY 'mos? Did I miss something? If she can't outwardly support us in NYC, why would you think she would for the US?
And I also recall Bill vowing to repeal DADT in the military, which also didn't happen...
What I really think is this: She really supports us very strongly, but won't say it. Just like Bill. And Mitt. And all those other candidates who work with gays every day in DC and their respective governments.
Now, she may not be the devil incarnate, but she is not the candidate for me. And I will be working for both Edwards and Obama to insure she isn't the candidate for the Dems either.

Posted: 1/29/08 at 8:11pmWell, she's been there for Hetrick Martin. And I think she DOES outwardly support NY mo's.

Posted: 1/29/08 at 9:30pmSomehow I never feel Hillary's passion. This just looks like a careful attempt to portray herself positively to a niche audience. She should go to an all black church in Georgia and talk about how we need to treat our "gay brothers and sisters" better and then maybe I'll think she's a little more brave to talk around such an issue.

Don't know, you can do your own research, but I did find this with a google search:

Let me just say that I could care less whether or not the government forces religious groups to perform a religious ceremony for everyone instead of who they choose to do so for.

Yeah I have that. Several friends sent it to me after the Donnie McClurkin betrayal.
I meant has Obama said anything specifically about gay teens. I find nothing.
#21re: Hillary Clinton on LGBT Teens
Posted: 1/29/08 at 10:05pmI was just glad to hear someone in her position speaking of it without mentioning the god or the bible.

I don't know, but we could sit here and argue about the tiny differences in LGBT policy between the top three democratic candidates or who did this and who screwed that up all we want. Maybe he's just never been asked. What is the context of the Hillary interview?
A google search didn't reveal much of anything for Hillary either, besides references to that video.

And if he gets the nomination, I will vote for him, but I will never ever believe in his sincerity on lesbian and gay issues because of the way he sucked up to that horrible homophobe Donnie McClurkin.
I will never forgive and forget that, even if I vote for him.

How did he suck up to the guy? The way I understand it is that he didn't even know who the guy was until the controversy started. His campaign put McClurkin in the program. Then he turned around and put a gay minister on the ticket right away and directed McClurkin not to spread his hate speech. It was a misstep, but Obama's voting record, actions, public statements and expressed views are consistently pro-GLBT and have been for years before McClurkin ever happened. The man has risked votes for his views.
I just feel like it's making a mountain out of a molehill. Hillary and Bill have made missteps too, bigger ones, when it comes to the gays. What politician hasn't. Obama's campaign management accidentally put an ex-gay gospel singer he didn't know anything about in a concert. Big whoop.
