Used to watch The Apprentice & Idol

The Apprentice is comatose while Idol is just not interesting anymore

Anyone else feel the same ?

I get a gold star for never wasting a second of my valuable time on such lowest common denominator dreck.

I still watch LOST, but how long can you be yanked around, week after week, month after month?

And when plot developments hint at resolution, we're introduced to a new group of characters that leave the previous story lines in limbo.

If it's all just an existential excercize, fine. But cliffhangers and ominous hints at revelations that only half materialize can be very irritating.

But I still watch it. Go figure.

It's The Apprentice and Idol for me too. I liked The Apprentice, but then it lost a bit of it's appeal to me by going to LA, and then I just got fed up with the whole thing of the losing team sleeping in tents. Idol is just getting to repetitive, and the judges are becoming characatures of themselves.

Fool us once (Twin Peaks), shame on them. Fool us twice (X Files), shame on us. Fool us three times (Lost), welcome to the 9th Circle of Hell.

This is the problem with US TV. Too focussed on long, multiple season runs.

In the past, good shows were given time to grow. Two examples are MASH & All in The family. Neither caught on right away & today would have been cancelled right away

which is why i focus on 24. i know that no matter what befalls him, jack bauer will survive and be freed to reign torture and destruction upon whomsoever he chooses. i know that people will die unexpectedly. i know that things will be blown up. i know that behind almost every evil plot against america is some old white guy (hey...wait a minute...). i know that naked mandy will return to grace my screen again. someday. somehow.

I still watch LOST. I gave up on 24.

I'm still quite hooked on far too many shows, including;

Bones
Cold Case
CSI (all three)
Without a Trace
ER
Lost
And many, many more.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Every year I say I'm not going to watch Idol, but every year by the time it gets to the Top Twelve, I get pulled in because my family watches it. I can't help it.

studio 60. I really tried. But I don't care anymore.

I gave up on "Raines" after 40 minutes, but will try to watch at least 2 more episodes.

I also gave up friends after about season 6, but watched the final 5 episodes for old time's sake.

Studio 60 was, actually, a hit for like a week. I saw it and thought it was incredible, and the following week it just got completely abandoned.

I gave up on Trump after the third season, when it became very clear that he was less of a businessman and more of a media clown. He's too cocky and arrogant for me, and I've had it with him.

I used to love 24, but I have the last like five weeks stuck on my DVR and I just can't bring myself to watch it. This season fails to interest me.

Lost lost me for a while, but I've always watched it. Interest died down, but I need to know what happens to all these people.

Even Desperate Housewives has lost its flavor on me. I think some of the storylines lately have become too contrived or simply not as enjoyable, and I can see myself not returning for next season.

EXACTLY! And the seasons are too long... cable seasons are what, 6, 8 episodes? Look at Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, Sex and the City.

I was hooked on Season 1 of Survivor. Saw about 1/2 of Season 2, and never kept up with it. Not been a huge fan of un-reality tv.

Stopped watching ER about 4 years ago.

Gave up on Friend when the whole Ross married in England Rachel thing mess.

And as much as I'm loving "Heroes," I hope they're smarter and keep it relevant.

Lost - not enough resolution to keep me interested

The Apprentice - one season was enough for me

ER - after the original actors left it wasn't as good but I kept watching. The final straw was the helicopter taking Ainspaw's arm and then coming back to kill him like a helicopter possessed. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

I never used to watch Idol, but I started to and I absolutely hate it. It's just not something good to watch, in fact I don't really care about many reality shows because they are just so unrealistic. No where in reality will flocks of women be competing for the attention of one guy.

This, among other reasons, is why Veronica Mars is brilliant (and the first season of Desperate Housewives gets credit for that, too). The mystery arcs are wrapped up satisfactorily at least by the end of each season. On the other hand, then there's the added problem of having to formulate new mysteries each season. Still, though, I'd rather suspend my disbelief on that part than be strung along by writers who've lost track of their own loose ends.

This is why I think FAWLTY TOWERS is one of the greatest shows ever made. 12 episodes and done. All almost perfect and hilarious. I love the English shows, 6 episodes per season, and they usually don't overstay their welcome.

I've stopped Apprentice and Idol last year, Top Model this year.

Actually my only show right now is Ugly Betty, since I work 6 days a week from about 9am-11pm. I catch Betty on ABC.com.

The first 2 seasons of The Apprentice had me glued to the TV. After that it just got dull and repetitive. And I definatly wasn't gonna watch this season since he fired Carolyn, whom I enjoyed watching.

I also loved the first season of Survivor, but found the second one boring.

Same goes for Desperate Housewives.

I still love Idol, though!
