It was ok! How was yours? What was your surprise date?
Awwww, that's so romantic! I saw the picture of your turtle, Henry would be so jealous!
Awww Maisie- Sounds like a super cute date and Skipper Dee is adorable. :)
I'm finding this androgynous thing very interesting....I'm going to have to think about some others...
What about Rachel Maddow? I dunno.
luscious how was wedding shopping? Did your friend find anything?
Maisie that turtle is ADORABLE!! Did it stop raining for your picnic?
Stockard- It wasn't very fun. She's very overwhelmed by the whole process. She hates going to weddings, so she's not so excited to be planning her own. Plus they have no money right now, so the whole idea of spending so much on the wedding is just not exciting to her. We went to one place and she liked the first dress there and it's discounted from $599 to $199, which is awesome, but we thought we should keep looking. So we walked into David's Bridal without an appointment and it was terrible. We understood that appointments will get priority but after waiting an hour, we finally got a consultant. She was no help and sort of scolded us for pulling the dresses that we liked, because that's her job. But she wasn't pulling anything similar to what we had picked and she was helping someone else or cleaning up the other rooms the whole time. You only get an hour with them and in that hour my friend got try on four dresses. She's not so excited right now. She hates wedding dress shopping.
So I spent all last night on craigslist, ebay and other places looking for inexpensive used dresses.
Plus we can't find a place for the wedding, so the whole thing right now is just overwhelming her and making dread it.
Ugh, they should just elope. I have a dress I never wore (we ended up just getting married by a JOTP). What style does she like and what size? I'll sell it to her cheap! HAHA!

funny thing, the song just came around on sirius77, and then I noticed this thread.
Just want to say hello girls, and that I enjoy being a guy having a girl like...
A BOY! I hope you ladies have all had your cootie shots!
Luscious, that sounds nightmarish... and the thing is, I know I'll be just like that if I ever get married. I hate all of that fancy stuff. (At least I won't be a Bridezilla!)
I've been associated with a church choir for many years now, which has involved going to a whole bunch of weddings. As a consequence, I have my wedding planned out in great depth, and I've been planning it since I was 12 years old.
Except I'd much rather just nip into a registry office in jeans and get it done with minimal palaver. The wedding day is not the main event, and just imagine how many theatre tickets you could buy for the cost of a wedding!
"Jane, you're providing me with some serious eye candy!! And for that I thank you."
Glad to have been of service to you!
So I got so tired of trying to copy and paste with my laptop "mouse" for those silly Facebook notes, that I went to Best Buy and bought a regular mouse. It's pretty cool, the middle part lights up pretty colors. Right now it's green, now blue, now purple.......
My 'mouse' looks like a ladybug. It's red with black spots. So pathetic. (Especially since the package says "MY FIRST MOUSE.") My dad got it for my birthday since he knows I love red and black... and, you know, creepy-crawly things in general.
I love Maisie's videos-- I'm watching her vlog right now. I laughed at the comment that said, "You should call this iCarlie."
Ha ha! iCarlie!
Henry freaking LOVES that show, btw.
I can't abide the real iCarly show. I love, love Drake and Josh, and I feel like it's weird to see the "Meghan" character and the "Crazy Steve" character acting so... different. (And Carly and Sam's web show is just annoying.)
When I was Henry's age, I loved "Arthur." Man, that show was the best. Sometimes when I'm home sick, I still watch it. I loved "Animaniacs" too, though I'm pretty sure I didn't get most of the references back then.
ME, TOO!
Once I recognized some of the same kids on a few of the episodes, and I got really upset that they got to be on Arthur more than once, and kids like me didn't get to be on TV at all.
Also, I sometimes still quote that show, and nobody knows what on earth I'm talking about. Especially when I say 'gleep.' And "He's a sad, sad bunny... a sad, sad bunny... TV isn't funny when you're a sad, sad bunny."
Henry watches Drake and Josh too.
I actually think iCarly is funny. Sam cracks me up.
He never really got into Arthur - He used to like Bob the Builder, Max and Ruby, Thomas, and the Backyardigans. Oh and Dora and Diego. But now he's too "mature" for those shows. Yeah.
