I miss that dude that was your avitar . I wonder how he's doin'?
So girls, facebook now owns everything placed on their site even if you delete your account. They can do anything they want with it. I'm just sayin' be careful what you put on there.

I was referring to college.
Oh, well Stockard if we're gonna start talking about college we'll be here all night with our horror/whore stories. Between you, me, Danmag, and Jag it'd take forever to go through our more than likely sordid stories.
They are welcome to all my crappy old 80's photos!
Well, I'm thinking if you ever wrote anything personal to anyone in a message, or in a blog, and of course any photos or videos.
Jag- Me too. I got myself out of a few suspensions with my bulls**t abilities. :) I still got a couple, but they were for tardies, because I have serious time issues...still do...always have....
I'm a good girl, but one time last year, I was late to class because I was hanging around in the hall goofing off with my friend Jay. It was the last week of the school, and I was going to win a perfect attendance award, so I didn't want to be late--so I ran to the trailer where I had my next class, and while I was opening the door, I accidentally got a massive splinter in my hand.
My health teacher barked, "WHY ARE YOU LATE?" And I just said, "I have this big splinter in my hand, and I was in the bathroom trying to work it out, but it won't come out, and it won't stop bleeding! Can I have a pass to the clinic?" He let me go to the clinic and he didn't count me late. So it's lucky I got a splinter while opening the door, or I wouldn't have an excuse!

Oh geez, you might as well add me to the list!
Schmerg that's great LOL I did something very similar in high school. I was super late to class because I was just goofing off after lunch and wasn't paying attention to the time, so my teacher sent me down to the disciplinarian's office. Well since he was this old tough man I knew the perfect excuse to get out of demerits. He asked me why I was so late and all I had to say was "Well my period's really bad this month..." He stopped me immediately because he felt so awkward and just let me go back to class with a warning hahaha

I don't know why people don't just buy their own domains and put up their own websites. Why bother with facebook?
Its in my generations DNA....
HAHAHAHA so true. And Krissy, I think the problem with that (besides the fact that I don't know what that means haha) is the word "buy". But if it was free and easy I'd be all on board!

It does cost little to purchase a domain. But to me that's better than the following conditions of facebook, especially for any kind of writer, artist, creative person etc.
The conditions:
" You hereby grant Facebook an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to (a) use, copy, publish, stream, store, retain, publicly perform or display, transmit, scan, reformat, modify, edit, frame, translate, excerpt, adapt, create derivative works and distribute (through multiple tiers), any User Content you (i) Post on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof subject only to your privacy settings or (ii) enable a user to Post, including by offering a Share Link on your website and (b) to use your name, likeness and image for any purpose, including commercial or advertising, each of (a) and (b) on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof. You represent and warrant that you have all rights and permissions to grant the foregoing licenses."
I have my own webspace for putting my things on. But I have nothing on my website that allows me to poke my friends. I shall from this moment on refrain from putting anything on Facebook I seriously care about. :3
I have a new avatar. It might take me a while to grow into it, but it's nice to see I'm not the only person who plays video games. Is it feminine enough? I couldn't find a decent picture of Cynthia, the skank from Silent Hill 4, and much as I love Lisa from Silent Hill, I don't want a nurse avatar. O_O
Hi Weez.
I also have my own website for my photos. But when you think of it, anyone can copy anything off the net and keep it. I guess they can do whatever they want with it also.
so, it's not only facebook. If you don't want the world to see something, don't put it on line.
Its in my generations DNA....
Dang, then I think I must be missing that chromosome! Does this mean I have Turner's Syndrome or something?
Blondebaby, that is the mist brilliant thing I've ever heard! I know it's true that I can use my period as an excuse for being a jerk to my dad, since he's too embarrassed to question it whenever I bring that up.
Schmerg, be grateful you don't have that gene. Facebook is a hard habit to break.

Ok just to get the dirtiness out of the way...Weez I like your new avi for obvious reasons (no duh?!)
BB, good for you using the old "Aunt Flo's come for a visit" excuse...totally classic!!!
For the most part I guess I was on time for class except of course for the last half of Senior year. Senior-itis had me in its clutches hardcore!!! I used to hang with my friends between classes gossiping like an old bitty. I used the "Period" excuse twice in one month (with the same male teacher) to get out of receiving a pink slip. God was HE gullible.

"But when you think of it, anyone can copy anything off the net and keep it. I guess they can do whatever they want with it also"
The first sentence is true. The second is false.
My understanding of it is this:
Unless the owner has signed away the rights to it like you do at facebook, no one may use your copyrighted or private work for commercial gain, nor for any use that may infringe on your rights to it.
If you write about something that happens in your life and post it on facebook, they may take that material and make a film, book, TV series etc. about it. If it is on your own web page that you have copyrighted, it's your property and you may take legal action should one do the same from your web page.
So, you're saying that technically, a composer COULD come and make "BroadwayWorld The Musical?"

That would depend on the TOS of BWW (which I don't have right in front of me) and whether or not that composer was doing it for BWW.
Giving away rights to facebook does not throw your work out to the public to use, it allows facebook to do whatever they please with it.
There are many fine lines here and I think an attorney would be the one to put that question to, Schmergie.
