So, Oprah has closed off Michigan Ave right by my office today to tape her 24th Season Premiere tonight at 5. There have been thongs of ppl here since the wee hours of the morning. So apparently the Black Eyed Peas is the musical guest and they are teaching the crowd a choreographed dance to their new song. So...I've heard the damn song over and over again for the last 3 hours. I'm so sick of this damn song.
Sorry New Girl!
I'm watching Oprah right now because its Dr. Oz's farewell episode. I just love that guy!
Right on the Michigan Bridge. It's sooooo loud..taping starts in about 10 minutes. I can't imagine how crazy it will be when Oprah hits the stage. Rascal Flatts and the Peas have been playing for the last half hour or so.
newgirl, is the song "I Gotta Feelin'"? Henry would be in hog heaven. He loves that song.
Oh yeah, one of Henry's karate sensei's is in a band and they have a CD out which they are selling at the dojo. I bought it for Henry and it's his new favorite CD. He's so freaking excited. I think they sound exactly like the Plain White T's.
What a shock. It's time for the taping and they are playing "Let's Get it Started".
Stock, yes that is the song. I liked it too until about 3 hours ago. :P
So I didn't get the role of Hero, BUT I got the next best thing. Me and two other girls will be a trio of singers (instead of a single role of Balthasar) and we have our own song that we're doing all these crazy harmonies in. So it's all good. :)
yay, SAMN!
newgirl, I would be sick of it too, but to a 6 year old it wouldn't bother them.
newgirl, you should get out there and start dancing!
Congrats,SAMN!
newgirl, I just wish I was in Chicago. Have you ever gone to an Oprah taping? I went to one when I was there. It was fun but the show was lame.
Congrats SAMN!
I've missed all you ladies! Things have just been crazy between Ocean City and moving into Philly with school starting. I have tons of crazy stories that will eventually come out over time. No worries
congrats SAMN!
And welcome back BB! How's your leg doing?
SAMN, I'm sorry you didn't get the part you wanted... but that sounds really, really cool anyway.
So... I'm randomly on this Billy Joel kick for no reason. I can't stop listening to his old songs!
I loooove Billy Joel. The only piano man I love more is Elton John.
I love Billy Joel and Elton John! My dad went to one of their concerts a while back and didn't take me with him... I'm still kinda pissed about that!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuI would be too! I wanted to go to their concert this year, but was WAY too poor.
One of Henry's karate sensei's is in a band and they are selling their CD at the dojo.
(I'm having deja vu. Did I tell you guys this already?)
Anyway, I bought it for Henry and we were listening to it yesterday on the way home and he's like "Sensei Stephen's band is better than Daughtry!!!!"
I was like......"Nice try, Henry. But no."
I adore Elton John. Billy Joel is fantastic too, but I was pretty much raised on Celine and Elton.
Piano, my leg's getting better. Slowly. I'm hoping for it to be 100% better by the end of October because there's an audition for A Chorus Line on November 5th haha
Congrats, SAMN! Hero is a doormat anyway, and how awesome to actually get one of Shakespeare's singing roles! :)
Ahaha, I love Elton John, too. But my parents can't stand him and are always talking about how awful he is, so they don't know that fact about me.
So, I'm a little bummed... this is my final year of high school, and the SEVENTH YEAR IN A ROW that I haven't had a single class with my best friend, or lunch.
But on the bright side, my chorus teacher (who's playing Evita in a dinner theatre show and is doing a fabulous job) was talking about how the costume person for the Broadway production of Evita was fitting her into some of Patti Lupone's costumes (because my chorus teacher is literally the skinniest person I've ever seen-- Patti LuPone must have been more than twice my chorus teacher's size when she was in Evita), and the dresser guy kept telling all these stories about how crazy and diva-ish and scary Patti LuPone was to work with. And also that she'd wipe her snot all over the costumes.
Glad to hear that it's getting better! And yes *fingers crossed* that it gets better so you can do the ACL audition! that would be SO much fun!
Schmerg, omg that's crazy! Although, ya gotta love her :)
Haha, thanks Weez. I'm a musical theatre person anyway, so it's fitting.
schmerg, whoa, that's crazy! And hilarious!
Ugg, why are college websites so hard to navigate?! I am trying to find info on the audition process for Marymount Manhattan and am coming up with nothing but dates! Uggggg.... so much for trying to be productive at 12am!
Also I plan on going into work late tomorrow... I came in early and stayed late last week AND haven't had a sick day since May or June so they can suck it!
Wow, I'm a bundle full of laughs tonight.... sorry :-P
