JG, I'm so sorry to hear about everything that's been happening in your life. You and your friends and family are in my thoughts, and you can come in here and vent any time you want.

I'm also wondering if there is any recourse your mom can take in that situation. It sounds so .... unethical at the least.

JG- I'm so sorry to hear about all your troubles right now! Definitely know that you can always vent to us. I hope your mom will be able to find another job quickly. Maybe her original boss will be able to help her with references or something.


Stock- About the song: there are lots of theories about it's true meaning. Apparently the band has pretty big vampire following, because of the lyrics "like you'll stay as young and beautiful forever". The story I had always heard was similar to this, which I found on a message board:

"Ive always heard the song was about the Possum Kingdom murders that happened in Texas about 20 years ago or so. Basically a whole bunch of girls were murdered and found with their throats cut, completely drained of their blood. As the story goes, one girl managed to get away, but no one was ever caught. My friends mom had some newspaper clippings. But yeah anyways, pretty strange when you think about it."

The band says no, it's just based on stories that they've heard their whole lives about the lake.

Thank so much for all the support. I am trying to hope for the best. I talked to my mom more about it today. Every time The Ass has spoken to her about what he expected from her in the past three months, he has put it in writing and made her sign it. It sounds like he was putting a paper trail in place from day one. She's had five or so calls this morning from coworkers. She's probably have more except for the fact that they took her phone and no one knows the home number. She has a lot of support. The guys say they will go to court with her and testify. We'll see.

It does sound like that guy had it out for her from the beginning. Since she's the only woman I wonder if she might have some case for sexual discrimination?

Wow, I missed a lot of drama.... I hope things get better for everyone! I think there is something effed up about this week because everyone I know is having a hard time it seems! Maybe it's daylight savings time....


I need you guys to give me your opinion... it turns out that the cute friend of a friend that I have been flirting with is quite a bit older then I was expecting.... is 13 years older too old? I wasn't expecting him to be that much older then me lol.

Kels how old are you? I don't think 13 years is that much. I mean let's say you're 21, and he's 34. I don't think that's too bad. Now I'm 43. I'm not sure I want to date a 56 year old guy. Unless he's really rich.

Really, I think that age difference is fine. Actually that's the exact same range between my parents when they met...she was 20, he was 33. Not that you should marry this guy or anything, but I don't think thirteen years is bad at all! Besides, you'll probably be at the same maturity level, what with how generally stupid men are. I hope things work out!

JG2, first of all, I'm glad to see you in this thread, as you've always been one of my favorites here! Anyway, I'm so, so sorry about all the **** you've been going through. I can't really add anything that the others haven't already said, but I'm sending you many virtual hugs. And I seriously hope your mom has a case...it sounds like she does. So, I was having a good day... until I called my mother. I don;t think she's coming to the show I directed tonight.... she made it sound like it was pretty low on her priorities list (I now get to take the bus in my party dress and possibly carrying a suitcase that they need for a Millie prop). On one hand I kinda don't want her there if she is going to act like she has been acting, but it stings none-the-less. So off I go... though I think I will leave the suitcase here.... I have been humiliated enough for the moment.

So here is a picture of my concert the other night. This is when the Sony Canada guy came out to give them their platinum award for Leave This Town (platinum levels are different in Canada...lower. I think 500K for twice platinum which is what they got)

The told them to turn their back to the audience so we'd be in the background. See if you can find me. haha...yeah right.

JG, I have many many questions about Sweden, but I will spare you most of them and research them in my own time. However, I'd seriously like to know if everyone in Sweden gets up at 5/6am or if I'm just reading books about a load of pathologically early risers. Any idea? Does that sound typical, or demented?

Weez, I can't speak for everyone but my fiancee is a peppy morning person. I think that may be the norm. I honestly think it comes from winters of getting up and out when it's still dark. They don't need the sun to wake them.

I've been reading the Wallander books by Henning Mankell. I think he's a little demented, but a really good read, they're awesome. :3 I've also just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, but I might read something completely different before carrying on, lest I get really obsessive and dull and frightening on the subject of Swedish crime fiction. XD

I just got back from the library where I was SUPPOSED to pick up The Girl withthe Dragon Tattoo that I had on hold. But there was some mess up and it wasn't there grrr! I got Amy and Isabelle instead.
