I mean, I always knew I had to get them at some point, but for years, I've been like, "Yeah, I probably have to get braces soon." And today, I actually went to the orthodontist, and suddenly it freaks me out; not really sure why. I mean, it's not like I'm really concerned with my appearance or whatever. I'm glad I only need them for a year, though.

Schmerg, I'm thinking about getting clear braces too. My teeth are straight but I just want to close a gap in the top row. Does that make me vain? Eh, who knows but the gap reminds me of someone I'm not particularly fond of so...

Oh and Mauri I must put a stop to this "Kill Jillian Michaels" campaign you've got going. Only because I find her attractive in that crazy "I'll kick you in the face with a golf shoe, taser you then make you run 10 miles in the mountains" kinda way. *swoon*

Hey, I too will be getting the clear braces/Invisalign! At my dentist appointment I mentioned it, and it turns out they have done a lot of that kind of thing, so my parents agreed. Now if only I could get them whitened...

I made a big decision tonight... I am going to try to go to AMDA in NYC for spring semester! I was originally going to stay in town for another year and costume Suessical and work, but I can't afford to take the time off of work to do Suessical (an unpaid gig) and those kids and that show were my only reason for staying for a full year! I don;t want to let anyone down BUT I really want out of here and I think I need to do this for me.

Tofu- The way you describe Jillian and then swoon makes me see that apparently we have the same taste in women. LOL. Jillian, Jes...sound about the same. Hahaha

Kels- I think it's a great idea. You can't stay just for others and you've been needing to get out of there for a while. Do it girl!!!

Schmerg, don't fret about the braces. So many people have them, and I recall many a play/musical in high school where leads had them as well. It's kind of inevitable in that setting! Good luck, though.

Kels, I think that's a great idea. If you've been teetering back and forth on this for a long time, it's clear that you don't want to stay there (and shouldn't have to, from what you tell us). Do it for you! You can still, at the very least, see Suessical. By the way, I was wondering, did you ever figure out that boy situation?

luscious, crushes do suck! Right there with you, girl. I have a huge one right (that will most likely go unrequited, and also makes NO sense whatsoever, so it's confusing on top of everything else), and it's brutal.

Nerd alert: why did I buy Sims 3? I have been sitting on my ass all night trying to make the Sims version of myself into a rock star on there. How far have I gotten in my quest? NOWHERE. But I did accidentally knock myself up! Whoops.

Schmerg- The good news is that you're in high school, it's incredibly common to have braces in high school. And if your school would seriously not cast someone because they have braces, they're nuts. And since your's are gonna be clear, you should have no problem.

JAG- I know, right? Like part of a crush is soooo fun, but the other part just sucks. Brutal is a good word for it.

luscious- I went to Spain, Italy, and France! It was INCREDIBLE!
Also, I completely empathize with the crush thing. I went back and read some of my old journals recently...full of crush sorrow!

Schmerg- I did the braces thing in middle school, and yeah, it sucks a little, but it's not too bad :) And I totally agree that your school is awful is they don't cast you because of it.

Hi ladies!
soooo my basement ended up not flooding nearly as bad as I thought it would but it's been an off two days anyhow because I like, over exercised.. and I didn't really it was possible for me to do that. I worked out 3 hours yesterday and then decided to work out for 90 minutes today anyways.. I'm kind of crazy. it's supposed to rain tom/wed so I'll be on flood watch again, argh. except I get to see my best friend tomorrow for dinner, so yay for that. So catch up..

1. Mauri - Jillian Michaels is a b*tch (although I do agree with tofu--a hot one at that) but I swear she gets easier quickly . I'm seeing arm muscles that I never thought were possible. which dvd did you buy? [ALSO if you keep track of your breathing in and out during the exercise it goes a lot quicker!] (PS MY AVATAR MISS YOU )

2. Schmerg - I am at the very end of my braces adventure -- being a high school senior and a college freshman/sophomore with braces wasn't the most pleasant experience I've ever had... but I find that I definitely made a bigger deal about it than most people did -- everyone actually forgot I had them from time to time. So, don't let them stop you. ever.

3. Lucious - I hear you, crushes are totally the worst :[[! Ahhh one time I like. . facebook stalked this boy until I knew way too much about him.. I like scared myself out of the crush :X.

4 Stockard - glad to hear he's back ! now here's hoping he's back in ACTION asap!

5. wlwu - sometimes you totally have to do what's good for you - and that's all that will carry you forward.

7. Danmag- I don't know if I said this before but you look absolutely gorgeous in your avatar

Hmmm the most eventful thing of the last two days for me was a phone call I had two hours ago with my friend from school -- who I adore so much but I find our relationship odd at times. She's just an amazing person and we get along well but I feel like I always try to impress her because she's great at everything she does... which proves awkward sometimes. Oof. Totally need to work on my insecurities before I got back to school next month. this non productive summer didn't help but maybe i can turn it around.

It's kind of sad, because I escaped most of my teens with pretty much no crush sorrow or angsty dramatics. Now that I'm in my twenties, it's all catching up. I've been trying to fathom why I like the guy I do right now...he isn't that cute, he's only semi-nice, he's not that funny, we have nothing in common, I won't even see him anymore in a couple weeks, and he pays virtually no attention to me. I think the complete mediocrity of our chemistry is making me want to bang him until kingdom come. That's some f*cked up sh*t.

Oh well. It's better than the hardcore crush I developed on a 55 year-old last summer.

luscious, we're always here to vent to! Sounds like this Jes girl has your head running around in circles.

I'm intrigued by Jillian Michaels. I know nothing about her, but what little I have heard is promising. Worth looking into purchasing a DVD myself, d'you think? I've just discovered that pretty much every group in the area is planning on doing Twelfth Night next year, and as I am still quite young and also rather busty, Maria and Viola aren't really realistic options, so I'm thinking I might spend the next few months transforming myself into a super hottie so I at least have a stab at Olivia.

..... did that sound incredibly nerdy to anyone else? O_O

Jag- Wow I hear ya! I can definitely relate to the not having all that much in common and he's leaving part. All signs point to "this relationship would never work" with Jes, but it doesn't matter...I'm in this. At the same time, not all relationships have to work forever. Ya know. Isn't soooo weird what makes us be drawn to something. My friends and I have definitely been through what you're going through with wanting to get his attention essentially. I think it may even be because you don't feel like he pays that much attention to you. Because then it becomes a challenge. One of my best friends is very much like that. If something's a challenge, even if she wasn't initially interested in that person, she goes for it. Drives her crazy. It's sometimes funny and sometimes it's hard. But best of luck with whatever it is that you want to happen with him. The funny thing about the 55 year old that you mentioned, is that my same friend has a thing for a 53 year old at the moment. This is the girl that was creeped out my crush on a 43 year old a few months ago. But now she's seeing that when you connect with someone, you connect with someone.

What I find interesting is that she keeps saying it's just easier with him. There's no drama and we can talk and just be and it's easy. And I've said the same thing with Jes. So far it's been easier with her than it is with guys at this stage of the talking/flirting/whatever it is we're doing. Any drama that's there is really just being created in my stupid GIRL BRAIN! I'm starting to think that maybe we're just getting burnt out on stupid jackass guys right now. Or maybe we're a little jaded, or both. But I've also been talking to my coworker who's 44 and she's having the same guy troubles now, too. So it never.goes.away. They're just jackasses always. So maybe that's it. We find something that's a little easier an we're going for that for a while just to get a breather.

Yeah, I have a gap, too, and a crooked molar in the back. I didn't even want braces, and my dentist said I didn't necessarily need them, but my mom wants me to get rid of the gap.

It's really hot here, but not sunny. That weird hot and cloudy combination.

Faith- I forgot to say...wow what a trip! I have yet to go to Italy, but I've been to France and Spain and loved it! I really adore Spain. What areas did you go to? My favorite is Barcelona. I just find it to be very whimsical.

As for the weather. I love thunderstorms, but don't need day after day of them.
