So, I got hired for seasonal employment at Macy's. Part of the training was that they had us do three training session programs. The first two were on diversity in the workplace and workplace safety. And, then the final was about how it is important to know what fabric children's pajamas are made out of so they don't catch fire while the kid is sleeping.
The stations on diversity and safety in the work place were set up in such a way that if one wanted to, all they had to do was simply click next time and time again until they were done. The workstation for the kids pajamas was all video clips and they wouldn't let you skip through it like you could the others. Not saying that I did skip through any of them because I didn't. I just found it a little discouraging that two out of the three were set up like that.
I think, that what they should have done is reformat the diversity and safety one and only make you do the child pajamas one if your going to be in that department and working there.
Why?
You are never satisfied with the way anyone does anything. You always know better.
Winston, get used to it and grow up.
The question is: Why would Macy's be selling any pajamas that are not fire resistant or ones that are made of flammable material?
Make sure and share your comments with the HR Department that hired you.

My only surprise in this thread is that he actually works.
Do they tell you to watch the dark customers more closely than the clear ones?
"My only surprise in this thread is that he actually works"
I had the same thought. Maybe if he changes his attitude, he'll last a couple of weeks.

They do sell flame resistant pajamas just not for the little ones because their skin is so sensitive. So they sell cotton, untreated pajamas that are meant to hug the skin. It's felt that looser pjs are more likely to catch if there is a fire

I'd suggest they watch the clear ones more closely. Ghosts are much better at shoplifting than those who are alive.
Eris, you've got to be kidding me. Ghosts trying to shoplift are very obvious. You just see objects moving by themselves which is a "dead" giveaway.
winston, it is probably not wise to air this complaint- identifying your employer and the brand- on a website. I may bitch and whine about my two jobs but I don't have the gall or obliviousness to identify them multiple times in both thread and start a thread with the employer's name in title. Talk to one of your higher-ups about it if it is that bothersome.
Yeah, but that whole "ability to go through walls" makes them much harder to catch. Some even have the ability to take the item through the wall with them. Though the novice ghosts don't get to keep the item they steal. But getting away gives them time to practice. Maybe Macy's needs to hire Peter, Ray, and Egon. They've already hired Winston.
Eris, I think shapeshifters actually are the pros in shoplifting. They already know how to master stolen identity. Kid's pajamas should be a snap.
That's a good point

Best line of the week! LOL!!!
Do they tell you to watch the dark customers more closely than the clear ones?
That's probably in the loss prevention tutorial.
And that's just something that work brings. It's not just Macy's that does stuff like that. I was working the concession stand at a water park once, and we had to watch some video called "Touched by a drowning." Now, why would I have needed to know something like that since I was not a lifeguard? I just watched and didn't question it.
I hate Macy's and what I hate even more is that Macy's and Bloomingdale's are the same company. And because of that, they're still getting a sh__load of my money.

Well, since it's a children's life safety issue, they actually do. They feel that the information is critical enough that they want to ensure that all of the employees know about it. Sounds like you're just pissed you couldn't take a shortcut.

I also got hired by Macy's for seasonal work. They have me working in the mens dress furnishings department (ties, dress shirts and such). The only thing they trained me on was the cash register and nothing else
Im usually out on the floor assisting customers and I have no idea what im talking about to them, I make everything up because macys didn't teach me about any of the dress clothes or anything. Customers still buy what I show them tho. But if you ask me where kids shirts or anything like that is, ill send you to a random place in the store because I have no idea where it is, also I don't want to be bothered. Lol

Gosh, I hope no one who works for the Macy's HR department reads the boards
Actually (and this is true), I went into Macy's last week because I needed to buy a menorah and when I asked where I could find them was told "We wouldn't carry any of that type of stuff here". I said "What do you mean 'That Kind of Stuff'"? and they said "That kind of Jewish stuff". It was so busy in there and I was just so amazed that I just left. I really should have gotten her name.
"also I don't want to be bothered. Lol"
Charming. And all too indicative of much of your generation's attitude.
