Who's ready for the midnight party?

I've cracked out my fave, Lucius Malfoy.

I mean business. Only 3 more days! (If you're starting to read at 12:01am on Saturday morning like I am!)

Meh. Sleep shmeep. I work a ridiculous amount of hours during the weekdays, but I will find some time to get extra sleep so I can make it through the night--and I am SURE to have a 12 pack of Coke in my fridge to make it through the long hours between 3 and 6am (always the toughest hours to pull all-nighters through).

I timed myself yesterday while reading OotP, trying to read as if I hadn't read it before, and I got about 50 pages every 45 minutes. At that rate of speed, I should finish HBP in less than 10 hours, but that's just a guesstimate. I'm hoping to be done before dinner Saturday, so that I can get some sleep, wake up the next day and start reading it all over! Oh yeah, and go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with my sis. It's gonna be an ENTERTAINING weekend!!!

...I just hope Lupin isn't the one to kick it...

So, I finished rereading 5 earlier than I had anticipated. I had forgotten how quickly the last 200 pages go.
I may start it again just to occupy the next day and a half.

Sad news for me, I finally remembered that I have one other HP friend up here but it turns out that though he is going to an HP party friday, our books are reserved at different stores so I am still on my own. The only thing I worry about is walking home myself, but I think people will still be out so it shouldn't be too bad.

There's been a lot of press here in Vancouver about the books that were sold at the Coquitlam Superstore. It's so ridiculous that the Supreme Court is ordering people to not even READ the books until Friday - who are they kidding? (Surely that tramples on some constitutional rights??) I would think that this is a publicity ploy from the Superstore Corporation, but I think they're more notorious now than anything - how could ANYONE mistake the release date? And they may be facing legal problems now from the publishers.

I'm still trying to get through Goblet of Fire. I've been working 15 hour days lately, so it's been taking longer than I thought. I'll have to get through Phoenix in one day - tomorrow - before I go to the midnight party!

Apparently 10 out of 14 of the buyers at Superstore returned the book. Aren't we Canadians honest? Actually, if they were smart, they'd have read the book first (I mean, how long would it take, a couple of days?) and returned it, so they could get the gifts as well!

Surprised no credible leaks have reached the Internet yet - or have I just not been searching properly?
