#1I just don't want to watch Glee
Posted: 9/30/09 at 11:15pmIt's a half hour too long. I can't stand the contemporary pop covers they do. It's a half hour too long. And Kristen Chenoweth. Yuck. There I said it.

I, too, feel forces coming from every direction making me feel obligated to watch it.
But I don't like it. So I will resist.
And, yeah, it should not be an hour. I might have stuck with it a couple more weeks if it was half an hour.
The opposite of creation isn't war, it's stagnation.

I don't watch it either.
C. Chenoworth pew.

Posted: 9/30/09 at 11:24pmIf your attention span is challenged by Glee, you may want to try Modern Family, which is on at 9PM on ABC. It's hysterical.

Posted: 9/30/09 at 11:26pmI hear you Namo. I wanted with all my heart to love this show. I can't even bear it for 5 minutes.

Posted: 9/30/09 at 11:27pmAs a wise man once said to Mister Matt, then don't watch it.

I can't watch it either.
But that's because my television set isn't working at the moment. So I watch online!

LOL at Eris.
The show just tries too hard. It would be easier to like if there was some sort of consistancy in the little world it is desperately trying to create.
I liked how the big lesson for lil idina was all about being part of the group and yet she quit because she wasn't the star and then saved the day... By being the star.
At least when Marcia Brady got a big head she was humbled by being demoted to Lady Capulet

I totally agree with whoever said that to Matt, PJ. I don't watch it. I saw the pilot and then the preview for the second episode and I just hated the music so much.
It's just that there are threads about it on both of the boards and rather than go in there and say how much I don't want to watch it (you know how I hate to bring a thread down), I thought I would say it here.
And I do and will continue to watch Modern Family instead.

#19re: I just don't want to watch Glee
Posted: 10/1/09 at 1:42amI haven't seen a minute if it. Not that I'm against it for any reason, it's just so over-exposed that I figure it's compensating for something.

Cut out commercials, you're down to 48 minutes. Cut out scenes with the wife, down to about 40 minutes. Cut out the sexual tension between Will and Emma, around 35. If you're not a fan of the contemporary covers, that's another 2-5 minutes, so hey, trim the fat, you've got a half-hour show.
>>The show just tries too hard.
I think the execs got their grubby hands in it over the summer and messed with it after the positive response to the pilot.

I think this show would have FAILED if it had received as much publicity as other tv shows.
This cr@p has been EVERYWHERE. Fox is promoting the heck out of it.
Fox must have spent millions promoting just the one episode back in May.

I still like it. I agree that it is a bit inconsistant so far, and I thought Cheno was miscast last night (though I didnt mind her "Alone" anywhere near as much as I thought I would.)
I finally saw Modern Family last night and didnt laugh once.
