But, you know, it's Roger Ebert who needs to be shamed here.
I am sorry the man died. I am very sorry for the pain that those who loved are suffering. However, it's not tragic, it was stupid. Until these jackasses and those who behave like them take a little responsibility, people will still think it's okay to behave like morons. It's not always just the drinker that gets hurt.
Thanks to everything Holy that these two jackasses didn't take out innocent people with their stupidity and selfishness.
I totally agree with you, JerseyGirl2. The daughter of my parent's friends was in a horrific car accident a couple of weeks ago because she was driving drunk. She is still alive, but in really bad shape. Her idiot boyfriend also got his 3rd DUI that night. He was driving in a separate vehicle. It is sad for whatever tragedy happens, but I also don't feel as bad because it was easily preventable.
They're also reporting that he'd racked up about two dozen traffic citations, 10 of which were for speeding and reckless driving.
Evie,
That was my thought, also.
I have ZERO tolerance for this issue.
ZERO.
Zero tolerance.
If you drink, you DO NOT DRIVE!
And, while we're at it: Put the damn phone down, and stop texting!

Wow, NyAdgal - a picture really is worth a thousand words.
And unfortunately it's not just alcohol that we have to worry about - people abuse all kind of substances before getting behind the wheel of a car.
If you drive on drugs, you're out of your mind.
That's a good point.
Any substance. If you're at all impaired, there is too much at stake. Don't drive.
Just Don't!
