Is there a Republican that you would vote for President? Anyone- announced or not- that you think could and should be President?
Just curious- having a discussion with a Republican friend who is quite dispirited by his choices, so toss out a name: Which Republican would you support for president?

I could see myself voting for Jon Huntsman. See his wiki page for his views, which are actually moderate.

Absolutely not. It doesn't matter how moderate they may appear to be, once the vultures get their claws in him/her, it's all over.
Bad enough they pulled Obama more center - we need someone as far left as possible so when they start swinging back to the right at least they may end up SOMEWHERE on the left.

"Bad enough they pulled Obama more center"
Yeah, too bad that evil Sarah Palin pulled Obama center. With all his golf outings, I don't know how he had time to meet with Palin and agree on a course of action.

No, there are no Republicans fit to hold elected office at all. They are all devoted to the destruction of the American Dream, and the ongoing persecution of gay men and women, and the establishment of a white born-again CHristian theocracy that will rival the Taliban for sheer oppressive evil.
And of course, there are no Democrats willing or able to stop the Republicans from achieving their ends.
We're f*cked, and f*cked good, folks.
Clear enough?

Yes, that's the latest charge: he plays golf more than Bush did. That sound you hear is a collective yawn on the part of the American people.
Oh, and if you're wondering what that smell is, it's right-wing desperation. Stinks, doesn't it?

On the other hand, Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush spent more time on "vacation" during their first year than President Obama did. Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton spent less time on "vacation."

Posted: 4/5/11 at 10:15pmVilifying the opposition is a significant part of what is broken in DC. Once the other side is the demon, antichrist, nazi, socialist, etc, it's impossible to work with them. It's wrong when either side does it. Sure there are extremists in both parties, but they really don't represent the majority. Boehner is having the same problems within the GOP that Reid had with them Dems. The House GOP shows that it really isn't as monolithic as we tend to think.

mb's right and said it before i could: huntsman.
of course, it's just a matter of time until it comes out that he was eating chinese baby brains and raping cattle in fuzhou while on assignment.
he'll have a rough time in the primaries and while he would be a viable candidate in the general the problem of having worked so closely with obama on china is that it opens him to the issue of being obama lite. and if people are offered a choice between the real thing and a knock-off, they generally choose the real thing. so unfortunately his bi-partisanship and service to his country actually hurts him, i think.
but he should be able to draw a good portion of the independents and if he could hold onto the right he'd make things interesting in the general.
assuming of course he could make it through the gop primary and no bombs come out about him.
that said, mb is a demon, antichrist, nazi, socialist, etc, and it's impossible to work with him!

"mb's right..."
I think I'll make that my signature.

That, too.
