Finally. Jasmine is outta there. I think that the finale will be interesting. See how they are going back to the season one format with both singing the same song ... hmmm.

All I gotta say is that there is a God and his powers were demonstrated by sending that little girl back to the island she came from. Good riddance.

So, is the contest over? Is there any reason to assume that Fantasia will not be the next American Idol?
I think this thing is all over.

You never know. I mean Diana got more votes than both Jennifer & LaToya so we'll have to wait and see. So Zola, you can come over and sit on my lap and watch the finale with me.

I live in the UK but have been watching American Idol with great interest. I obviously haven't been able to vote, but if I had, I would have been one of those voting for John Stevens, despite what you have all said on here! I know he had little performing ability but at 16 I thought he showed a lot of potential. I really liked his voice! I was disappointed that he went before the "Big Band" show, when he might perhaps have come into his own a little more.
Fantasia is a very gifted performer but I just don't like her voice. A little too screechy for me. Diana is a very promising young performer. I'm looking forward to watching the Final (two days after you do).
P.S. I still think our Will Young is the best.
P.P.S. And we Brits don't all walk around in smelly T-shirts either!!!!

Hi Molly:
Thanks for your post you darling little Emma Thompson-like, Helena Bonham Carterish thing you.
I have to warn you of what happened when two of your fellow subjects got on this board and decided to take on the American republic.
It wasn't pretty.
Let me also warn you of saying that you would have voted for Big Red.
That's not pretty. And, we like pretty things in this country. Just a little friendly reminder. On a positive note, I appreciate your avoiding all British-y spellings in your post. It's great that you all are part of the coalition of the willing, but we do not need you to impose all those u's in the middle of perfectly good words like color or humor. Also, z is a great letter. Use it!
By the way, who in God's name is Will Young?

Oops, no intention of taking of the American Republic, just interested in this discussion and thought I would put in my two-pen'orth! (Thought I'd get a British phrase in ...)
"Idol" started off in Britain (created by, among others, Simon Fuller, ex-manager of the Spice Girls). We called it "Pop Idol" and it was the world's first. The winner was Will Young, who has gone on to great success.
Will's still my favourite! (Thought I'd get a word with a "u" in!)
Anyway, American Idol is very popular viewing over here too. Fantasia seems to be the favourite. (Another "u" for good measure!)
