I'm sorry but I thought Jasmine really stunk last night on Idol. Given the current voting pattern, I'm sure Fantasia will get kicked off tonight, but Jasmine should have been gone weeks ago.

Fantasia is in a class all her own. No one this season rules the stage the way she does. I thought that the first time she sang at the beginning of this season. She blew me away with I'm Just a Fool (or whatever the title is) last night. Simon picked the right song for her-I give him props for that! If she doesn't win (which wouldn't surprise me, the way the voting goes on this show) it doesn't matter-she's already won.

Diana has the best money note but she's not a complete performer like Fantasia. She's good, she's just still green.
That being said, I think she'll win.

Diana did hit some pretty strong notes last night, but as you said, she isn't quite the whole package yet. Fantasia is. Fantasia's also unique, where Diana isn't much different from any other young strong singer. If Diana wins, I don't blame anyone for crying foul. But then again, it's not always the best deal to win. Runnerup gives you more freedom (think Clay Aiken vs. Ruben).

Does anyone else think this will be the last season for American Idol or I think there might be one more season but the ratings will drop bigtime!!!

LaToya's exit left this contest in a very different place. A turning point. Now, it's not exactly fun watching the judges beat up on Hawaii's most infamous cabaret act -- 3 times in one evening -- is it? It's painful. At least Clive Davis was professional -- and actually useful. Too bad he wasn't there weeks ago, to speak about some of the long-gone ... talent.

I think the judges this year did a horrible job with their selection of the final 12. Mabe next year they should let Clive do it.

Fantasia has extraordinary musical talent - and is a "real find". I expect that we'll hear great things from her. In a perfect world, she would be the overall winner.
Diana is also very gifted and should have a promising career ahead of her. She's a lot of fun to listen to. Diana needs some time to mature and I bet she will be terrific. I would not be surprised if Diana takes the overall prize.
Jasmine, obviously, is just an okay singer. She has pitch problems and her range is not extensive. She's a beautiful girl - maybe she could be a successful model.
Jasmine should be the person sent packing tonight, but I have my doubts. I wouldn't be shocked if either Diana or Fantasia goes home based on previous voting patterns.
I believe American Idol will be around for several more years. The shows consistently rank in the Top 10 weekly. The show has hit a chord with America and will overcome its well publicized "voting issues". Simon Cowell has stated that the judges have a 5 year contract to do the show.

Fantasia doesn't and never did need this competition. She is a huge talent--I'd buy her CD today. She was just F#%^ing amazing last night!
Diana is so young that I think she will def get over her flaws and become a top notch performer. Because when she is on--buhDAMN!
Jazmin has soooo far to go--but you know there is a great voice in there...

Fantasia grows from week to week. Diana has improved as well, but I still find her a phony performer who only can sing big and loud. I was glad the judges got her on singing to the back row and not conveying an ounce of feeling with All By Myself. I'd rather see Beth Fowler, not to mention Melissa Manchester, SING as opposed to SHOUT Don't Cry Out Loud. Jasmine has just been very lucky.

Jasmine sang "All By Myself," not Diana. Diana sang "Don't Cry Out Loud" and was praised for it.

At the risk of getting stoned by the Fantasia-ites, I respectfully disagree with the adulation of Fantasia last night. Oh, she IS talented, and certainly is the clear winner of this whole thing. BUT...to me, the background singers did the work in her second number, and all she did was throw in a few "yeah, yeah, yeah"s every now and then. And I thought her rendition of "Greatest Love of All" was definitely sub-par.
Diana: The girl can also sing. But that orchestration of the Celine song was so freakin' FAST that it showed her to a disadvantage...of course she couldn't embellish it, Paula -- she was too busy trying to get the lyric out!
Jasmine: Bless her heart. I was glad that she sang "Mr. Melody" though -- I'd forgotten all about that song...good to hear it again.
I also found it interesting that the judges had such a dry hump over Fantasia last night. They're positioning, no doubt about it.

But don't forget about how everyone they've praised in the past has gone the way of the dinosaur. It seems having the judges like you on Idol is the kiss of death.
I think Jasmine should have her bags packed tonight, but who knows?
A final of Jasmine and Diana would be the ultimate annoyance.

I love Fantasia, but no matter how good someone is, if they are participating in American Idol, the judges should not say "you are too good to be here!" ... maybe she raised the bar for the competition, but I don't think that means she should be beyond it. Besides, I think Fantasia has been pretty consistent during the entire show and the judges are now only showing her complete praise once LaToya is gone? It doesn't make sense. I wish they'd stop trying to sway the votes.

Zola,
It would be annoying...but it would also be fabulous. If that comes to fruition, maybe we, the viewing public, will finally wake up to what saps we are to watch this stuff anyway. LOL

Fantasia is the only memorable one. Her personality definitly grows on you. She has the makings of a star because everyone tunes in to see what she's going to do next. She wasn't my favorite in the beggining (Jennifer Hudson was ROBBBED! lol) but I really have come to respect her talent. Her version of "Fool In Love" was good, but I think Tamyra Gray from Season 1 did that song a little better. Fantasia seemed too concerned about the audience. I can't wait for Tamyra to be on tonight. She's singing two songs from her CD coming out May 25!!! My icon is the CD cover.

I agree that Tamyra was the all-time best.
