Jessica Simpson's "Do You Know" Out Today. Finally She Gets Positive Reviews.
re: Jessica Simpson's 'Do You Know' Out Today. Finally She Gets Positive Re#25
Posted: 9/10/08 at 1:00pmI like Britney's music, but I don't think I ever actually defended her VMA performance from last year. Her CD was good (actually her best reviewed album she has released!) and I supported her for that reason.

Yes, split all the hairs you want. You show your "support" of this type of performer, you apologize for their demonstrated and repeated shortcomings and dismiss it when somebody points it out by saying they're just trying to be "cool". Yet, both you and muscle trumpet "the best reviews" a performer has ever received as if those and only those are valid.
That lack of consistency contributes to your lack of credibility.
Have at your delusion that Jessica Simpson is good and when this album flops like everything else she does and she tries releasing a Middle Eastern-infused Nu Metal album (which is actually a way more interesting possibility than anything her handlers will think up), we'll look forward to your enthusiastic posts about it.

Haha, I hate her because she's slept with Nick Lachey too, but oh well.
Jessica never stated her political views, when asked recently, she said her record label would never allow her to express her views, and she hinted that most people would be shocked to know what party she will vote for.
She is definitly gay friendly though, and anyone that watched "Newlyweds" knows she is a fag hag.

Namo, your arguments are horrible. I do not support every aspect of Britney's life. I liked her album, not her VMA performance from last year.
And who cares if this album flops? I'm certainly not buying it but I think she IS talented and you don't. Who cares?
Oh--and In This Skin went 4x platinum... hardly a flop.

MY arguments are horrible? You keep splitting hairs and changing your definition of success from reviews to platinum status to god knows what. I hate to break it to you, but something selling doesn't make it good. Everything she touches is a flop.
And I'm sorry if my interpreting your purchasing multiple copies of Britney's last album and distributing them to friends, relatives and teachers as SUPPORT of Britney was wrong. But you do have a thing for these phony manufactured borderline talentless pop personalities. You're the gay male Rath.
This is where you might want to chime in that since I am talking about her she must be doing something right. Or maybe that's muscle's line: Since your talking about her she must be doing something wright.

Oh my god--just drop the Britney argument. It's over--I bought her CDs because I liked them (and DID support her as a recording artist).
I never said Jessica's music was good (even though I do enjoy it). You said everything she does is a flop--a flop is something that fails. In the music industry, it doesn't matter if the music produced is great or not. If the CD goes 4x platinum, it has sold pretty damn well and is NOT a flop. I'm pretty sure anyone in the music industry will tell you that going 4x platinum is a SUCCESS.
You are arguing two different points. Are her CDs good? Not good, but enjoyable to certain audiences. Has she had CDs that are SUCCESSFUL? YES.
I like Jessica and Britney. Just shoot me already.

Ah blueroses sums it up in three words.

Posted: 9/11/08 at 12:08pmJoeKV99- Totally agree. Just saw her on The View and it was so hard to watch. She contorts her face way too much and she also shakes her head way too much. It's very distracting. As far as her image, I don't know why her daddy had to turn her into a pop "star". It just seems that it was way off base. She was a Christian singer from Texas. I wonder how different her life would have been if she had just started in country and didn't try so hard to be like Britney and Christina. Just sayin'

I love Jessica. Just saw her live last week and she can sing very well live-which I respect in the age of lip-syncing. I think most people react negatively to her persona, which is constructed by the media, paparazzi, tabloids. Lots of singers make faces when they sing, so I dont fault her on that.
I think the new CD is great. I wish her all the best.

Really, cuz I just watched her sing a song from the new cd on The View and she's uncomfortable to watch. She seems to be out of breath on every single syllable she sings and she has no performer instincts. In fact, no matter what line she was singing she shook her head "no" for each and every one. Tried to make herself cry by the end. Couldn't, of course.
In the bit of her chat I saw before the song she mentioned all her businesses (perfume, clothes, shoes) being so lucrative it doesn't matter "if" her records don't sell. Of course she meant, "because this one's bombing too." She then said, "God gave me this gift," meaning "singing," I guess, "And I'm going to use it."
God declined to comment for this article.

You must be in a different time zone. She didn't come on yet here.
I can't wait to watch her sing, for those faces she makes. Oh, maybe she isn't planning to sing.

She sings on the show. She's almost completely devoid of musicality. No physical sense of rhythm. I believe her jaw can unhinge perhaps so she can devour a guinea pig at feeding time.
She goes completely flat at one point.

As I controversially put it at the beginning of this thread:
She's AWFUL.
And she's proven it again and again today.
