Heh I am addicted as well. The kids are just too darn cute (especially Aaden and his glasses!).
My mom got me hooked and actually called to let me know that they were on Oprah on Friday. All 10 of them.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 7:34pmI am the only one that thinks Jon is just barely containing his unspeakable hatred for his wife and family? I can't watch this show without making notes on scenes that will eventually be cited as evidence at his trial.

Well, she doesn't seem like a tough person to dislike.
That woman is easily the most annoying person on television, and I hate kids, but I can't get enough of this show.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 7:48pmI also feel bad for Jon sometimes; Kate treats him like he's just another one of the kids.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 7:50pmI know they didn't mean to have that many kids, and they're lucky they all seem to be healthy, but Jesus. It's hard for me to feel much more than bemusement tinged with scorn for them.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 7:58pmI "AWE!" everytime Aaden says ANYTHING! I love the kid! My roommates think I'm insane because I can tell all of the kids apart.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:00pmI haven't seen it yet, but I've been meaning to check it out. I love kids but can't imagine wanting or dealing with that many of my own!

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:10pmHow did they accidentally end up with 8 kids anyway? I always think of that scene from Monty Python & The Meaning of Life where he comes home to announce that some of the kids will have to be sold for medical experiments.

They had trouble getting pregnant, so they went on some sort of fertility treatment. They had twins, and then when they decided they wanted to have one more, they ended up with sextuplets.
Oops?

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:15pmSee that's what I thought- how in the world could they have known that there was a chance of having a litter of babies--- expect for that fact that people on fertility drugs have litters of babies ALL THE TIME.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:19pmExactly. They act like they had no idea that fertility treatment can make you have like a hundred f-ing kids. They had to know they probably weren't going to get just ONE more.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:24pmI am ADDICTED to this show. I think it will be interesting to see if they end up making more money due to their popularity and it becomes slowly obvious. ie. bigger house, more help, etc. It was interesting on Oprah to hear how when they were both jobless some people acted as if they wanted to live off the system. Jon said he was 26 when the sextuplets were born so that makes him the same age as me. Wow. So much to handle.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:26pmPsh, the twins were just a happy little coincidence!

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:30pmI love this show, but I absolutely cannot stand the mother; she's too much of a control freak.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:31pmYo. and need to respond to the fertility talk. How about you search out online for all of the people who haven't even been able to get pregnant on fertility drugs before you toss around those comments. Yes, the drugs can increase the chance for multiples, but it's not guaranteed. On another note, I think we need to talk about how many celebrities must get pregnant with the help of fertility drugs and treatment these days. Do you think it's a coincidence that so many stars over 35 are having twins? Do most people believe that it's natural and happening without fertility drugs or in-vitro. It is not that easy for women over 35 to get pregnant.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:34pmI do have a certain fascination with this show as well. Agree with all the above comments. It also seems like there's always a kid crying every episode. In fact, it seems like some of them cry all the time. The husband does seem a little dazed sometimes. I saw them all on Oprah. I think the mom really likes the camera. I wonder how much they get paid to do this show. All I can say is I stopped at 2 and I'm happy with both of them! mom

Posted: 2/24/08 at 8:35pmI mean, they seem to have the means for it, so it's not my business how they spend their money, but I just feel a little icky when I see families with drug-induced litters. I get that people want to have kids of their own, and my sister went through some failed fertility treatments and my heart really went out to her so I'm not made of stone, but I just don't get what it is we're supposed to glean from this show. Is it a comedy? A cautionary tale? The best and worst of America?
