ok, I just spent a great 20 minutes or so on that blog! Thanks for the link...I love some of the comments! Someone even wondered the same thing I did...where the hell are Mady and Cara?

Haha! Yeah, it can be addicting. This blog was formed when TWoP permanently locked the Jon & Kate thread due to repeated posting violations.

Interesting about the house. Also interesting that they haven't shown the front of it like they showed the front of the old house in the old opening. Maybe they are afraid of the backlash! You can tell it's a huge property when they took a walk in the woods. I never knew it was THAT big though! I also wonder if they have had to pay taxes on all the free trips and such. We've learned with all the congressional hearings that you have to pay taxes on such things! I also can't believe they are getting 2 puppies- and they look like they are going to be big dogs. There will be a lot of Kate complaining on that episode! I was thinking Mady and Cara are at school at the time of filming. I also thought the 6 were in pre-K- but maybe not- or they're just cuter for TV purposes! Hope they have a psych lined up for the future!

I cant even lie - I was super jealous that they got two German Shepherd puppies, especially since Kate hates fur...could she pick a breed that sheds more? She seemed so unenthusiastic about the whole thing, it really bugged me.

Does she honestly look enthusiastic about anything anymore?

Maybe when her brand new stainless steel appliances arrive, but if the kids or Jon are involved, she rarely looks pleased or positive.

I can't stand Kate in general (and I watch anyway, because I think the kids are funny) but I found last night's entire episode just infuriating. All she did was complain, half the kids don't even likethe puppies that she's such a saint for buying them, Aaden is afraid of dogs, for God's sake. She had the nerve to bitch about how expensive these dogs were, when, um, whose choice was it to get expensive pure-bred puppies? You can adopt puppies from a shelter and they are virtually free. But they wouldn't fit into Kate's anal retentive lifestyle because they are not perfect. It also just really makes me angry when people who have absolutely no idea what they are doing get dogs. Like, when she said, "We're kind of winging it" or whatever, I honestly started yelling at my t.v. They have no idea what they are doing. And that's besides the fact that German Shepherds (let alone TWO of them) are not for inexperienced dog owners. Does she know how big they're going to be? What the hell is she going to do with two HUGE dogs on top of eight kids? Did they consider adopting adult dogs that they wouldn't have to train? I'm sure she'd have a fit about that because she wouldn't get to mold into her own little creations, but it'd have been smarter. She can barely keep her house together now without going into a rage. They have no business bringing dogs, especially puppies, into that house. Those poor little puppies.

The end.

Emcee- totally with you on that! I, too, was talking back to the TV. Why on earth get 2 puppies when you don't even like dogs! Why couldn't she let the kids have a choice in naming them. She could have chosen a few names that she liked and then asked the kids to choose from her list. I love German Shepherds but they can be scary looking to kids when they get older. There are so many smaller dogs that they could have chosen- and they don't have to be so small that the kids would break them. She could have gotten dogs that don't shed too! She was just so whiney last night- and annoying! the end

Because it's for her children. She is just the best person alive because look at the sacrifices she is making for her family! She hates dogs, but she is bringing two of them into her life so her kids will have puppies. I don't know about the rest of the world, but my parents are neat freaks who go into a rage over a couple of dust bunnies. And you know what? When my brother and I wanted a dog for all of those years? They said no. And we dealt with it. Clean freaks and dogs just do not go together.

The shedding, pooping, peeing puppies will either force her to relax her AR standards (ha!)or they will be sent back to the breeder, breaking her kids' hearts (well, at least some of them). Not a well thought out decision on their part.

If she felt complled to give her kids a pet, a standard poodle would have made more sense for a houseful of kids. They're easily trainable, non-shedding and kid-proof.

I also loved when she told the story about the breeder going on about what great dogs they were, how they should get them, and so forth. OF COURSE the breeder is going to tell you they're great dogs for your family, dumbass. With so many breeds to choose from, wrong matches shouldn't happen if people just do a little research and are realistic about their lifestyles. I just really, really hate when dog owners don't think through their decision to bring a pet into their lives. I've seen too many dogs abandoned because the owners didn't think through their choice and ultimately couldn't handle it.

By the end of the episode, she was already bitching about taking them back. For our benefit or not, I do not know.

I agree with what I read somewhere, perhaps here, that the puppies will show up in a couple of episodes and then make a mysterious, Tiger/Brady Bunch-like disappearance.

If anyone in that family had half a brain, they should have started with hamsters or guinea pigs. Buy one for the twins, one for the boys and one for the girls and if they can't handle that level of responsibility, forget the dogs.

The only tiny bit of sympathy I have revolves around the fact that Kate realizes that while the dogs may technically belong to the kids, she just saddled herself with the care and feeding of two more children.

Well, and she just talks about how the kids have to do this, the kids have to do that. She's got to know that she's going to end up being the one to take care of those dogs, reasons not limited to the fact that the kids, you know, have school. Or... maybe she doesn't, I don't know. They have never proven themselves to be particularly bright.

On the "Gosselins without Pity" site linked above (thanks again for providing that link!), several posters there claim that the dogs have actually already been farmed out to another family and there will be an upcoming episode explaining that one of the kids was "allergic" or something. Don't know if it's true, but it would not surprise me.

What killed me last night was her kids trying to thank her for the dogs near the end of the episode and all she says in return is "you're not welcome". NICE.

I'm angry at myself for ever liking Kate in the first place. She used to remind me of my mom, and her relationship with Jon actually reminded me a lot of my parents' relationship. But now that I know she doesn't like dogs, I'm so over it.

I was literally talking to my Persian cat (see avatar) while watching this episode last night, venting.

I've wanted a German Shepherd for like, years, and it just burns me that they got two when they know virtually nothing about the breed or raising a dog. IMO, they want to a sh*t breeder if he pushed two from his litter on that family. And I swear, if they give it away because one of those kids has allergies, I'm going to flip out. Although the poor things will probably be better off anyhow.

I bet Jon is the one who really wanted the dogs and Kate probably caved in to him. Now she's gonna make everyone else pay for the fact that SHE never really wanted the dogs in the first place. I wonder if they were freebies like all the other stuff they get! Still think she should have gone for a smaller breed who make smaller messes. Full grown German Shepherds definitely make more messes. There is a lot of property at their new house but it didn't look like it was fenced in. We have a friend who has the most adorable white poodle. He doesn't shed, is very smart, and is a great lap dog. I just wonder if Kate will turn the kids against the dogs so it will be easier for her to get rid of them.

I just looked at the blog posted on the previous page. Wow, lots of comments to get through, heh.

I always find it funny, and sad, when people say they want to get a dog because they have "a big backyard." Sure, the rare dog will be the type that's satisfied with a short romp around a fenced in yard (see: Toy Poodles, Pugs, etc), but a Shep? It seems a moot point, since it looks like the dogs will be going to a new home anyway, but I'd be willing to bet one, if not more of those kids would be nipped sooner or later by a pent-up, unstable dog that's looking for a job.

It's funny, because I remember a long time ago, Kate said she'd be willing to consider a "small, no-shedding" dog when the kids got older, and Jon piping in that he'd prefer a "herding dog that would watch the kids." GSDs are great with children, if socialized properly, but it's not uncommon for them to start inappropriately herding kids and biting them because they're not able to fulfill that drive elsewhere.

Ugh, this whole thing's a disaster, lol

Ooh- don't EVEN get me started! I guess that's been my point this last year- all the freebie stuff! It just all seems very jaded. There's another show called Kids by the Dozen- or something like that. One of their multiples has developmental issues. They seem more real to me. Even the crazy Duggers use their trips for missionary work. They're not bragging about the free stuff.- oops- I guess I did get started- ha! Thanks for posting!

Well, Sarah Palin's family is also supposedly "really Christian" which resulted in Bristol getting preggers, so who knows if that means much for the day to day life stuff, lol. I hope this isn't true but who knows, gossip mags/blogs are so hit or miss.
