Joy Behar Leaving The View

Say what you want about Elizabeth and Sherri, but at least their friendly. I have been to the show quite a few times and sat upclose and carried on friendly conversations with both. However, the last time I went, Jane Fonda was the guest. My friend and I got pulled out of the line from the second show and given front row, since I was a big fan of Jane Fonda. We rode the elevator with Joy, since the show was about to start. That witch never looked up from her notes or acknowledged us. I had already knew she doesn't chat with fans during tapings. But there was only four of us in the elevator, including her. Can't stand her. Glad she's going.

I work in a broadcast field, myself. Sometimes I don't talk to people I don't know, especially if I'm prepping for something big on a deadline (you said the show was about to start. Maybe Joy is secretly intimidated by huge names like Jane Fonda and wanted to really be prepared for the interview), so as to stay focused and not get distracted. Doesn't mean I'm a witch, nor her, either. Sorry you felt slighted by the experience, but things aren't always as they seem.

Remember, they're there to do a job. The show comes off without a hitch for several reasons, including their crack production staff and how they prep their hosts. But the hosts actually have to retain the information they're discussing, from day to day.

Yes, Lovepuppy I agree with you. But I have seen the show, several timee in person, and not once has she ever chatted with the fans during break like the other hosts do. And yes, she may have been preparing herself, but when my friend said hello to her and was ignored, IMO, that is a witch. Substitute whichever letter you like.

I'd be shocked if the Hasselbeck rumors turned out to be true. I vote, we get Brooke Shields (who I think does a GREAT job every time she's on as a guess or host) or the one and only Bette Midler, I hate to be harsh but it's not like she's got anything else going on right now.

I don't know...in my opinion, this falls into the same unreasonable complaint people sometimes have on here about stage dooring. Chatting with the public is not part of their job if they're not on stage or on camera, and if they choose to do so, or not to do so, that's their prerogative. Doesn't make them bad people, it makes them hard-working, focused professionals.

And today I heard broadcast on tv that indeed Barbara was "thinking of leaving" meaning she's getting the boot.

As for being friendly or not off camera, that shouldn't matter. I don't care for Sherri on the show because I'm not great at being a fan of tv personalities whom I think are not bright. to put it mildly!

Sheesh, lovepuppy, are you President of her fan club? Ignoring us on the elevator is not why I don't like her. That was just the icing on the cake. I never said she was a bad person. I just don't like her. I am sure there are people in the public that you may not like, but that I love, but I would never try to change your opinion or convince you that your opinion is wrong. That's the problem on here. Some people feel they are entitled to tell you how wrong you are if you do not hold the same opinion as they do. I don't know how old you are, but I am grown. I have been capable of making my own decisions and forming my own opinions for quite some time. I don't need anybody's help in picking out a broadway show for me, telling me what comic I should like or telling me the movie I love is a bore. Then try to convince me why I shouldn't love it. I read reviews on here, for entertainment purposes. I form my own opinions and don't try to shove my own down anybody else.

If you didn't want to discuss it, ArtMan, then why bother to bring it up? Simply to convince the rest of that she is a "witch"? If you express an opinion as strong as that, you should expect that others may respond to it.

Perhaps she didn't hear you on the elevator? Possibly she was deep in thought. Possibly she IS a bitch (the word grown-ups use). Whatever. Lovepuppy didn't suggest you should change your opinion of Behar, nor that your opinion was "wrong" - simply offered reasons as to the possible causes of her (lack of) reaction and friendliness. You know, an exchange of information, giving you information you might not be aware of.

In fact, lovepuppy didn't express an opinion about Behar at all. Lovepuppy sounds perfectly reasonable and is being quite civil. You seem to hate Behar so much you're attacking lovepuppy, and that makes you look a little off-kilter.

If all you wanted to do was vent, you've done so. Repeatedly. You can continue to tell us how much you dislike Behar because she wasn't friendly to you, but if that's all you've got, why keep repeating it? No one's trying to change your mind and there's no reason to go off on lovepuppy.

Ghostlight2, I didn't bring it up it to discuss it. I don't need to convince you or anyone else, whether Behar is great or not. It was merely my opinion of the woman. As I read many threads, that you respond to, you seem to have no problem offering your opinions. And have a track record of arguing with others who feel different from yourself. You are a perfect example of the type of individual I mentioned earlier. I don't care what Behar's intentions were. And I didn't ask for you or anyone else's analysis of the situation. As one "grown up" to another ""grown up"..Fuk Off

What a very adult and charming response. My point, which you have missed entirely, is that when you express a opinion on a public message board, particularly a strong one in which you lower yourself to name-calling simply because a tv personality wasn't friendly to you, it is reasonable to expect some one might express theirs, as lovepuppy did, quite civilly.

I do often discuss differing opinions on this board, as that is the main reason it exists. I try not to argue, and I don't go around calling people names or telling them to "Fuk Off."

If you'd care to discuss this further, preferably in an adult and civil manner, feel free to pm me rather than clog up the board repeating your opinion of Behar, which seems to be based solely on a couple of instances of her not being friendly with you.

For the record, I'm not fond of Behar, either. I find her harsh and abrasive - but you appear become a little unhinged and angry when people don't fall in line with your own opinion of her. You've vented, but venting doesn't seem to have done anything but make you angrier.

Thank you, ghostlight, for getting it right on the money and for your correct and sensible explanation.

(And, for the record, I'm grown, too. So much so that I don't use "I choose my own comic books to read" as a defense for my grown-up-ness, so I'm probably at least 10 years older than ArtMan.)

Oopsie. Two can play that game, but that's all I'll say. Have a lovely evening.

My reference to comics, pertained to comedians...not the books!

Joy Behar Leaving The View

I'm going to guess that they will use guests in Joy's chair until they find someone suitable to replace her (meaning someone with good comic timing) similar to what they did with for a year with LIVE WITH KELLY until it became LIVE WITH KELLY AND MICHAEL.

And as far as Barbara Walters being "booted out" she owns 50% of the show. If Barbara leaves it will be on her own accord.
#39

Joy Behar Leaving The View

Yes. If Barbara Walters does leave THE VIEW it will be her own doing. No one is going to "boot her off" anything. As bob3 pointed out she OWNS 50% of the show, is by all means one of it's creators and executive producers. She will leave when she's good and ready and on her own accord.

Didn't she retire from the show a few years ago and then keep coming back?

Uhm, she is getting ready to open a show on Broadway....

Barbara going anywhere until the show is on solid round, unless she is ill. Certainly not "booted".

She's not a Joy "type", but I think Reba McIntyre (sp?) could be a good replacement.

I don't care if Barbara owns 100% of the show. She and the other producers want what's best for the show and if it's time for her to leave, then she'll leave. She's not that stupid, people.

^ But you COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT.

People came on here speculating she was getting BOOTED which is not possible because she's not in the same position that the other hosts are. She can surely FIRE HERSELF, by leaving on HER OWN ACCORD but no one can in effect FIRE HER.

That's THE POINT.

And you're yelling at me because....

chill, this isn't that important.

p.s. you missed my point, I'm afraid.

I'm sorry, the caps were used for emphasis and not meant to disrespect you.

I was just trying to clarify that Barbara could not be fired off the show. She may choose to leave "for the best of the show" as you pointed out or simply because she may want to move on to bigger and better things, although I fail to see how her presence is detrimental to the program.

Sorry again if I came off "snarky."

Joy Behar Leaving The View

Thanks Carlos! I appreciate that. Well, here's my point. Somehow I brought up the fact that Barbara might be leaving also. I had heard it from some Hollywood inside gossip monger. This monger mentioned that the producers would like to replace Barbara, and she wasn't happy with the idea.

then I read all these posts about how much of the show she owns, and that she can't be booted out. But of course who knows if she could be or not?
