Ok, you guys. I broke down. I have accepted that the Christmas season now starts in early November. Why fight it?
Especially when you get to listen to Ms. Clarkson's sensational Christmas album!!!
Girl...I can't even. MY FAVORITE THINGS. It's like a Harry Connick arrangement with a killer diva vocal. The title track is a fabulous new song. She has both the rocker and country chops to pull off both RUN, RUN RUDOLPH and BLUE CHRISTMAS with authenticity.
Get it, bitches. Get it. Feel free to suggest other Christmas albums!
God, I was on the fence about this.
But ok, I'll pick it up.
I'm also getting the Erasure Xmas cd.
Got it! Love it!
Did you get Mary J. Blige's "A Mary Christmas"? Who knew she'd do a duet with Babs? Another must have for your Christmas collection!
Taz...it's so good. It is so, so good.
I wanna get the new Linda Eder (I just sounded like my mother, didn't I?), but...well...I'm kind of special needs when it comes to downloading music. It's being sold from her site directly, and I panic that it won't download into my iTunes. Like...if I can't get it in the iTunes store, I can't get it. It's irrational and I hate living in fear.
Boobs, I have yet to get A Mary Christmas. I'm allowing myself a new Christmas album each week! I also cannot wait for Jewel's Christmas to Sound Wistful By.
Robbiej, thanks for the reminder. I need to add Jewel to my wish list.
I already pre-ordered Erasure and Leona Lewis' Christmas CDs. If you only knew how many Christmas CDs are in my collection you'd have a nice laugh.
Kelly's album is FANTASTIC! Great vocals all around on top of outstanding musical arrangements. "Underneath The Tree" is just so much fun and has the potential to be the next "All I Want For Christmas".
The duet Clarkson did with Aldean is an awesome song!
My favorite Christmas album in a long long while. Maybe since Mariah.
My Favorite Things is indeed incredible. But for me 4 of the 5 originals just top everything. Underneath the Tree is destined to be a classic, and Every Christmas is AMAZING! The vocals all around are the best she's ever sounded.

Thank you robbie for recommending this! So happy I got it, I love it.
It's absurdly festive. This is what an Xmas album should be.
My new "go to" Xmas album.
One of my favorite Christmas albums is Sarah Mclachlan's WINTERSONG. It's gorgeous...but let's face it. It's Christmas to kill yourself by.
This album is the perfect companion piece. Upbeat, joyful, fabulously produced and featuring an artist who can go from rock to pop to country to jazz effortlessly. Winter Dreams is sounds like it was written by Lily Allen when her meds were just right!
And, can I just say that her photo on the cover is stunning? She's looking better than she ever has.
I bought that Sarah Mclachlan cd at Starbucks. I popped it in my car player and almost fell asleep at the wheel.
It's beautiful, but it's all so sloooow.
Try listening to it on colonopin. It can induce a persistent vegetative state.
I do like her Happy X-Mas/War is Over.
WAIT...question. I remember once hearing a Melissa Etheridge cover of Merry X-mas/War is Over and cannot, for the life of me, find a recording of it. Am I making the whole thing up?

It's never been out on cd as far as I can tell.
I think you can download it though.
ETA: Boobs beat me to the link.

Oh thank GOD! I'm just happy this wasn't some sort of syphilitic hallucination.
Kelly has one hell of a Christmas special planned for NBC soon that she just recently recorded in Vegas.
All I could think whilst listening to it on my way to work this morning was 'Please baby Jesus, let there be a tv special!'
Great CD. Thank you so much for making me aware of it.
Just looked it up, it'll air December 11 and will feature appearances by Blake Shelton, Trisha Yearwood and Reba. I'm not sure if it will be included in the show or she did it just for fun but she apparently performed numerous hits from "Wrapped In Red" as well as some of her other chart toppers.
I had friends at the taping. The concert parts will be inter cut with an actual narrative that they filmed the week after.
I think they had two hours at he venue, so after the first hour of taping, Kelly came back out and did a mini "greatest hits" concert. Those songs wont be on the special though. :)
