"if she was willing to let the maid get fired, what did that say about her?"
she was a child afraid of her father.
Anyway, I was glad to see Sun shoot that woman. It is definately an interesting character twist.
The thing with the Red Sox was the most chilling part of the episode. The idea that these people have access to the outside world just really spooked me.
As much as I love this new location (where the other's are), I am ready to get back to the beach, and find out about the hatch, and Desmond, locke, charlie, ecko.
Plus, who I miss Rose.
It was more than just her being afraid of her father -- it showed that she was willing to let someone else take the fall (pun intended) to save herself. She KNEW what she was doing - look at the scene again -- it wasn't just fear - she KNEW she was getting the maid fired.
"The thing with the Red Sox was the most chilling part of the episode"
Yep, that's how I felt about it when it actually happened...
God I love Sawyer.
I agree that I can't say the Jin/Sun flashbacks are the most interesting, but I'm a sucker for them finding each other at the end, even though that happened in the beginning of last season. Just shows despite everything how much they love each other.
And what about the dude falling from the balcony? I thought what we were gonna see as a parallel to Sun shooting the girl was Sun being the one to kill Jae, but I guess that was unanswered.
I never know whether or not to believe Benry. I feel like I want to, but I realize I can't fully.
But it does make sense that Jack would play some part in trying to save her life.
So I'm trying to remember back to the first season. Did Kate realize that Sawyer wasn't his real name and he never told her his real name, or did she just realize that the Sawyer in the note referred to a different one. I thought she knew, but I guess not *shrug*
I'm definitely excited and ready to return to the island as well. I'm missing some of the characters, wanna see what happened to the Locke, Eko and Desmond but also how everyone deals with the news that Jack, Kate and Sawyer have been captured.

Whatever happened to this thread?!
I don't think I'm giving any spoilers away here. But when LOST returns from hiatus on Feburary 7, Zeljko Ivanek will guest star!
I hope this doesn't count as a spoiler but I heard that the first flashback episode when we come back from the break will focus on Juliet. I'm very interested in her character so I can't wait.
So far, I am completely bored with this season so far. I have a feeling it going to be just like last season when absolutely nothing happens until the last 2 episodes. I am questioning whether or not I can deal with that. I just finished watching the last two episodes on my DVR and I almost started bleeding from my eyeballs they were so boring.
Does anyone else feel this way?

SPOILER WARNING
Yes, the first episode back will be Juliet, and it will guest star Zeljko Ivanek.
END SPOILER
Loreali, I'm saying thats a spoiler because I know there are some posters here who don't even like to know who the next episode is based on.

^^^ Wow - looking forward to that.
SPOILER (although not really a spoiler) ALERT
I am so curious to see some of the Others' backstories!
END SPOILER
I actually like this season. It focuses a lot on the Others, which is kind of interesting. I wonder if we will see anything of Walt? he was one of the most interesting Losties. I imagine there was more to "sending them to rescue" than Ben let on.

Not bored at all -- I don't know what you expect from a TV series. I think the story is progressing logically and in a pretty entertaining way. No complaints here.

The smoke monster is back!
SPOILERs IF YOU HAVE NOT YET WATCHED LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE
Eko? Noooooo! Eko was one of my favorites. Great episode last night. Juliet's little display was interesting. Wonder if she's for real, or if this is another test for Jack. Mr. Peach says Eko had faced his demons, and that is why what happened to him - happened. He's made peace...gave his confession without being coerced (as he was in the flashback).
END SPOILERS
Although - if the episode has already aired, do I really need to use spoiler warnings?
I'm just ecstatic to find out that the hottie from Brazil(Rodrigo ??) has joined the cast. He's absolutely stunning in "Love Actually".
I completely agree Peach.....It's the way of the island...reconcile all your issue, and you die!
Wonder if the big black smoke monster will be back, or if it only was after Eko? And...just because I'm too lazy to do this myself....did anyone check to see if all those images we saw in the black smoke last time it faced Eko appeared in tonight's episode? I remember there were a few other women...one of whom I would imagine was the woman who worked with his brother's church.
Juliet??? I'm not sure what to think of her. Or of Ben. We've had two whole seasons telling us the Others are not be trusted. Is she telling the truth or is she just doing this to gain Jack's trust to use him for something else? Or does she want to take over? The way this show is laid out, it seems everyone has some sort of ulterior motive and we never know what anyone is truely thinking.
And, anyone else wonder what the hell happened to Danielle? We haven't seen her in a while, but she's still on the island somewhere.....at least we think she is!

For some reason I trust Juliette though knowing the show, she is going to turn out to be as evil as everyone else. It was finally nice to have an episode focusing in different characters throughout the island instead of just one group. Next week's episode should be interesting as it is a mini-season finale.
I'm convinced that The Others are going to turn out to be the good guys and our castaways the bad guys somehow. I don't know - it's still kind of hard to put my finger on it...
I loved this week's episode. I don't care what anybody says, season 3 has captured my attention way more than the other seasons have.

Until this week's episode I had found this season extremely dull. In a way I wish they would stop adding characters, I enjoyed the show a lot more when they focused on the main "clique," now Charlie, Claire and Hurley simply appear to have some lines to justify their salaries.
SPOILER ALERT
So many questions to be answered? Now, I wonder what the smoke monster is and why did it kill Eko? Did it take Eko's brother's? Do the Others know about the smoke monster?
Other questions are: Can Desmond predict the future? Who are the Others who kidnapped Walt (the lady who had Michael at first has not made an appearance)?
And the bigger questions is why does everyone seem to be interconnected somehow?
I'm so intrigued by this show.
The lady who kidnapped Walt was at the book club meeting in the first episode of the season.
The question isn't whether or not Desmond can predict the future (he clearly can), the questions are how much control does he have over it, what will he use it for, and does anyone (will anyone) else know?
Are the smoke monster and the light Locke saw the same thing? Are they same as Kate's horse, Jack's dad, and Dave?
If Ben had found out about the tumor two days before the plane crash, was the crash a coincidence? Doubtful. I'm still working on the theory that the flashbacks are implanted somehow - they're not real. I think that's why we haven't seen about Locke's legs -- because they were never hurt. Rose's cancer didn't exist. Jin was never sterile. These things "appear" to have been cured by the island - but did they ever really exist?

"The lady who kidnapped Walt was at the book club meeting in the first episode of the season."
Not true. April Grace (Ms. Klugh) will not be in any of the first six episodes this season, she will appear when we come back from hiatus, and it will explain where she is and why we haven't seen her yet. The lady at the book club has been seen before, but she is not Ms. Klugh:

Also, keep in mind, the "Book Club" was an Others flashback. It was the day of the plane crash (not the day after the hatch implosion - which is really where season 3 "begins").
So if it was Ms. Klugh, she still could be with Michael and Walt today.
hm - interesting -- given the half a second that shot was on screen, though, it's no wonder I thought that was Mrs. Klugh...

As confirmed by Harold Perrineau (Michael), we're actually supposed to believe that Michael and Walt got off the island. Neither of them will be back this season.
As for Ms. Klugh, she is MINOR SPOILER in the same place Alex is supposed to be END SPOILER.

Where is Alex supposed to be?
Thoughts about last night? I thought they stalled a lot until the last 15 minutes. Could have used a little more substance the first 45 - too much time spent on Sawyer and Kate. I do like the cliffhanger of Sawyer's well-being (I hope he's still alive), and the inkling that Alex is potentially either a) Ben's duagher or b) Ben's girlfriend.
It seems Alex is somewhere off of the main compound. The question is, is she there of her own free will, or being "kept" and are the people she's with part of Ben's group or another group of "others"??? Her connection with Ben is interesting too...can't wait to see exactly what it is...father? lover? spiritual leader?
A friend thinks Alex is part of a big fertility experiment on the island, which is why they took Claire and Aaron. She also predicted that the Others orchestrated the whole Kate/Sawyer romance so that she will conceive. We saw through Kate's flashback that she was able to conceive, or at least she thinks she can..... This theory would lead the way for more action for Sun and her unborn child. Plus, another friend pointed out that as one castaway dies, another has been "born", and with the death of Eko, that would make a new baby about right.
As far as Kate and Sawyer goes...thank goodness they finallyl resolved that damn triangle! I really didn't care who she ended up with, but damn it, pick somebody already! I think the flashback also showed that she can't stay true to a "good guy", so that may be why she chose Sawyer over Jack.
Jack---this is an exciting twist. Jack's telling Kate to run (notice, he only told Kate to run, not Kate and Sawyer....) but doesn't realize that there's no where to run to. And Kate has the issue of telling that to Jack, with two armed men holding her hostage. For him to have that knowledge most likely means he's lost control of the situation. It's one of those great Lost predicaments that makes for a great ending to these block of episodes.
I assumed that Alex's "boyfriend" was the boy who was kept in the cage opposite Sawyer, and tried to escape.
yes..but that doesn't mean she didn't have some sort of relationship with Ben....
