I was listening to Jay and Jack and they suggested that maybe there were more of those little hiding spot places that Alex, Kate and Sawyer jumped into on the main island. I really have no idea though.
Nobody's mentioned this yet: Mittlelos is an anagram for LOST TIME. I don't know what that means, but the producers said in an interview on ew.com that there was an anagram in the episode that would be important down the road.
The Clockwork Orange scene was GREAT - I need to go back and look at those images again.
I'm so happy Lost is back - and that was a KILLER episode!
Did anyone else notice that in her flashback, when Juliet was meeting with the guy offering her the job she made that mini speech about how she doesn't have what it takes to be a leader...didn't Jack say the same thing to Locke in season one? Interesting how at one time they both didn't think they had what it takes to lead and now they both are stronger and seem to taking be charge.

so yeah as many have wanted, and more have suspected, it seems obvious that charlie won't be with us for season 4
Eh...I loved Charlie are first, but he's been kind of an asshole lately.
Anyway...yeah. That whole episode...wtf? Weird. Next week looks great though.
Seeing Penny reminded me of this...what happened to those guys who were up in the snowy mountains at the end of last season??
One thing i thought of after i posted. If Charlie "died" while trying to rescue claire, then wouldn't have claire died? So is going to be an inevitable end before the end of the season as well?

Not quite, Liverpool. He could just as well have rescued Claire or gotten her close enough to the shore that she could save herself (or someone else could) and he alone would drown.
I'm a little confused by this week's episode. I mean, okay, it's a flashback, but it's a flash-forward, or it's Desmond having a flashback to his life in England, where he had flash-forwards of the island. All bizarre. And damn, this show is starting to suck. There used to be more ensemble action goin' down, but not anymore, and it's bothering me. Kudos to Sun for her one line.
I liked this episode, it was really interesting.
My theroy is that when he turned the key, Desmond got stuck in a loop. In those quick flashes he went through his entire life and died, then he went back and started again, and went back to the Penny event. And that is why he can see the future because he has already done all this.
There used to be more ensemble action goin' down, but not anymore, and it's bothering me.
Totally agree. Even when they first started doing the flashback episodes for individual characters it would only be for about half of the show while the other half was spent on the island where the rest of the cast actually did stuff. Ah well. Next week looks promising. Hopefully Jack gets back to the main island with everyone else soon.
Charlie: Where's Claire??!?!?!?
Sun: She went for a walk and I offered to watch the baby.
Or, something like that.
If you haven't seen this yet, you must.

I am losing brain cells over this show but can't seem to stop watching it. Help - who is the woman in the jewelry store, the one who was selling Desmond the ring in the last episode? She seems familiar but I can't place her.

That was well-known, well-respected Irish actress Fionnula Flanagan, of whom I am a huge fan. You probably recognize her from "The Others," or perhaps a dozen other films she's done since then.

She's Data's mom!
Nope, don't believe so. I've watched the show since the second airing of the pilot, and exclaimed, "Data's mom!" during the credits last night, so I think I'd remember having said that before.

Lizzie: Yay, "Star Trek!!!!"
keen on kean: Nope, this was her first appearance on "Lost."
I'm not lost on LOST yet... but I still just want to know what happened to all the 'special' talents of The Others; it's like suddenly they are just normal. It's really bugging me.
Well, next week we're apparently going to find out about the kids and other people who were taken, so hopefully they'll answer some of those questions.
But according to Entertainment Weekly *SPOILER*
no Walt or Michael till next season.
I just watched this week's episode and it was so confusing. How can Desmond predict the future if it's assumed that he only lived till he turned the key? Who is the woman at the jewelry store, some sort of time-mistress? What does the time-traveling have anything to do with the crash, the others, and the connection between all the people in the planes? When will this show start answering questions instead of leaving you with 1000 more?
I miss the ensemble-driven episodes, it's one of the things that made the show special and now it's gone.
